nice, straight forward repair , still lucky because the IC chip driver of the 2 mosfets survived, normally when the FEts shorted it damage the chip as well. and for safety purpose you should have check first if the power is turning ON, check if DC voltage coming out from the speaker terminals before fixing it to the speaker box and making audio test. It might burn the speakers if DC voltage is present on the speaker board terminal , as i say safety first but anyway nice repair .

You are lucky as usually when mosfets blow they burn the gate resistors and also the mosfet driver chip. Having such a strait forward repair made it rather easy.

Should've put heatsink compound on MOSFETs to heatsink surface to assure adequate cooling.
@TKFElectronics2 жыл бұрын
It would be more better if you use heat sink compound for every high Temperature components.

So, all I need is a Voltmeter, and screwdriver and the parts correct ? During testingI could not see which terminals you are connecting to, I am not an electronic engineer. Also, during testing, is the power completely off, or at one time it has to be on ? I am not sure.
@TKFElectronics2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching my video sir, I am sorry that u r not able to view clearly testing points, actually I recommend if you are not qualified technical person pls do not attempt to repair it sir, & by the way during testing voltages unit must be in ON condition where as during testing ohmic test unit must be in OFF position. But most importantly is always check any Malfunctioning Power supply board in series.Do not connect directly to Main AC power.

Two of the large mains filter caps were knackered. Tops bulging right out. Should have changed them whilst it was apart as a precaution..
@Tronzoid6 ай бұрын
I have a couple mackie powered speakers with the same capacitors. They have a black plastic top that make the tops look deceptively bulge-y even when they're good. Not saying definitevely that they aren't messed up, but impossible to tell from sight alone.
@fredflintstone20776 ай бұрын
@@Tronzoid They don't bulge when new. As they start to fail they pressurise inside which results in the bulge. Eventually they will fail. It could be years or they could go "pop" tomorrow. They are designed to bulge so the eventual "pop" will be a lot less. Most of them have weak points built in to let the pressure escape once it reaches a certain level. This avoids a much bigger bang.

@@Tronzoid One of my Mackie's has 6 large filter caps and four are bulging but it is still working fine. I'll change them at the next service.

Can the whole board be replaced if the repair is not successful? I think mine is damaged beyond repair. And where can I find the replacement?

Better buy new system only instead of thinking of replacing whole main Board

Sir, my srm 450 v2 active sound reinforcement system is giving shrill on turning "signal present" knob. One of the engineer changed the potentiometer with 6pin in line 50k value (available in the market) but the problem is not fixed. As per schematic it should be 10k potentiometer. Can you make it available or suggest me a shop where I can get it at Pune.
@TKFElectronics Жыл бұрын
10k pot is very commonly available in any electronic Market & i am sure in Pune also available
