Watching this beautiful video the day after the tragic fire destroyed much of what is seen here. Hope now that the future restoration will bring its heart back. Although it's such a shame so much is irreplaceable ........I've been so lucky to have attended many classes here and hold it dear....

Thanks for posting-- very interesting. As one of the speakers said, it was such an achievement to create something that was a complete break with historical styles. Very subtle curves.

The loss of all this is almost akin to the loss of a person, so multidimensional. I don't even have any direct personal affiliation with it, and I feel such a deep sadness about it.

@Anon A. Mouse The archive was saved and also 70% of the other contents including a large amount of the student work. There are conservators working to retrieve the final year students presentations, who were due to present their work 5 hours after fire broke out. This is a working Art College which obviously requires electricity, how else do you expect people to work in there? A somewhat silly comment from you.

If the building had been looked after and not used as a kicking post, it would still be here.

And now - extensively damaged by a May 2014 fire with possible loss of Mackintosh archive and ongoing student work. Looks like the college's everyday utilitarian usage allows for too lazy an eye and a relaxation of respect by those daily privileged to perambulate without a second thought within exquisite designed corridors and halls failed to see that an electric switch needed to be turned off ...
