That’s great but I’m wanting to move the file from one place to another, not copy it. How is that done. I’ve looked at multiple videos and articles on drag and drop but nothing tells me how to move instead of copy.

Could you make a video setting up iCloud with custom domain? Thank you

That's in early beta right now. I may do it once Monterey is out and it is all settled in how it works.

Can you drag an audio file and say drop it in a drop window on a website? That’s my huge problem these days..
@macmost6 ай бұрын
Sure. It would be up to the web site to provide the drop zone, and to handle the file once it was uploaded.

Do you know if there’s a way to access files on my network, either on my PC’s or Apple Mac or other iOS/iPad files, without using iCloud or google drives? Specifically I work with large data and video files, using iCloud causes them to be uploaded and then downloaded via my internet connection which takes time. I’d like to just transfer them using my home/office network.

You can just use standard local network file sharing. System Preferences, Sharing, File Sharing.

@@macmost - Not found in iOS. What am I missing? And thanks for the response!

@@macmost -- Perhaps I should have been more specific. I can share the files on my PC, iMac, Mac laptops just fine. However if I've used my iPad Pro, or phone there is no way I know of to open the local shared network drives they can share, or access the data on the iOS devices without doing the iCloud data shuffle. When you're talking about large files, this can delay access for many hours while the files are uploaded to iCloud, then downloaded from iCloud on the other device.

@@Erin-Thor To access file sharing on your iPhone or iPad, go to the Files app. Tap the button at the top right (circle with three dots) and select Connect To Server. Enter the server's address. You can find that on your Mac by looking at System Preferences, Sharing, File Sharing at the top ("Computers on your local network can access your computer at:").

@@macmost - That will work! THANK YOU! I have always tried to use the finder on my Mac to see iPads. Never tried the files app before. While not perfect, the MB Air and PC cannot see the iOS device, the iOS devices can see the Mac. One sided will work!

One way is to simply drag the center line left or right all the way to the edge. See kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZ7ZmHegoNuamsU
