Check the windsock at 09:30... You clearly landed with cross wind, seeing also how the right side of your wing went up first when starting the "flair".

I notice you loose all the VG...I like to land with 1/4 vg on...I think I feel better the moment the glider need the final stall.Cheers Ago

The most easy landing field you ever can wish for , do not fly wingovers and high speed shows so close to touch down , I could tell the ending by just watching the video . Fly a downwind leg , left approach , checking your height and turn in for a strait landing . This maybe old school system is also helpful when you experience high volume traffic

@@willswingwilly1950 Thank you for your comment. I haven't had a chance to fly recently, so my sense of landing has gone haywire and I haven't been doing well, but I've been getting back to normal. Thank you for your advice, I'll keep it in mind.

Yep, it was clear from the windsock and from the direction that the other glider landed in that you were not landing pointing towards the wind. I have done far worse though... and I am not approaching 70!

Great video. Thanks for sharing..... Quick question. During flight, you pulled a rope on your right hand side. What does it do????
@skyhighjp8 ай бұрын
The rope on the right is called a VG rope, which is used to adjust the wings. By the way, if you pull it, the wings will spread and the performance will improve, but the control will become heavier.

@@skyhighjp thanks 🙏👍 Very much appreciated. I fly paragliders and was wondering. Delta wings are really the king. Happy flying and always safe landings.
@RogerM99 ай бұрын
Kudos for posting! Good landings come from good approaches. This was neither, but you already know that. Initial positioning was too close to the LZ, leaving you to come in crosswind. We've all been there, and hopefully only damage was to your pride. I bet you don't make the same misjudgement again 😅

@Smokey5100158 ай бұрын
It looks like not enough speed on your approach. I float in ground effect longer in a Falcon 3 than you do in this video. With more speed, you should have more controllability. You were already on the right side of the control frame when you got into ground effect.

@@skyhighjp "Distorted senses"?! If a pro like you has trouble maintaining your skill, I'm screwed. I'm also 69, going on 70 and just starting training again. I flew back in the 70s ...but not at all for the last 45 years. Still, I want to soar again for a few years before I give in to old age. Wish me luck, Bro!

It's far from a perfect landing. Is it wrong to set the flight here by lowering the spa log and rod to increase speed? I think I'll put it back next time.
