The macrame that I just bought is one strand 3mm. Is it possible to use this or does it have to be 1mm or 3 strand twisted and part into 3, like you did in this video? Thanks.

Linda's Crafts and Things hi Linda! Sorry for such a late response. You can definitely use a thicker rope, you would just want a bigger hoop so all the strands can fit on there. Thanks for watching!

Hi again! Did you end up trying it separating the single strand rope you had? Your question had me thinking and I initially thought it would be more challenging and not as tight, but it should be ok! You’d just want to make sure to have equal amounts of strands in each rope you created (for anyone else reading this). Only issue I could see is that the strands wouldn’t be twisted as tight, but it should still work out!
