Hello everyone 👋 In today's video I am doing a macrame garland to decorate the nursery corner and I hope you will enjoy the tutorial 🙂 Keep on reading for all the supplies and measurements.
For this macrame project I needed the following:
4 nails
33 m of the 3mm 3ply cord in Natural
21 m of the 3mm 3ply cord in Terracotta
14 m of the 3mm 3ply cord in Eucalyptus
And these are the specific measurements for all the sections:
Each hanging cord from the natural cord was 150 cm.
These are the cord measurements for the large semi-circle (each row starts with one natural cord and then if there are other cords mentioned those are the extra ones that go into the gaps):
Row 1 - 2x90 cm natural
Row 2 - 1x80 cm natural, 1x75 cm terracotta/eucalyptus
Row 3 - 1x70 cm natural, 2x65 cm terracotta/eucalyptus
Row 4 - 1x65 cm natural, 1x60 cm terracotta/eucalyptus
Row 5 - 1x60 cm natural, 2x45 cm terracotta/eucalyptus, 2x45 cm natural
Row 6 - 1x50 cm natural
These are the cord measurements for the small semi-circle (each row starts with one cord and then if there are other cords mentioned those are the extra ones that go into the gaps):
Row 1 - 2x55 cm
Row 2 - 1x50 cm, 1x40 cm
Row 3 - 1x45 cm, 2x30 cm
Row 4 - 1x35 cm

hello Anna I recently just started to watch your videos and instantly had to subscribe cause I fell in love with your work and the way you teach. I have been knowing a lot of my life and find it very relaxing. anyway I am getting married next summer and am having a handfasting ceremony but want to make my own rope. this is a highly popular to get married these day making a come back after mean years anyway I think it would be too awesome if you could do a video on how to make your own handfasting ropes using macrame, having asked this id also love to see a video on how to start a project without needing a rind or dowel for a project like a belt or a handfasting rope when someone would want to just some how have a free edge to make hang beads off of or a tassel? keep ongoing and making videos they r some of the best I have seen thus far !!!!!!!!

Thank you 🙂 I was looking at the handfasting ropes and it seems very similar to a belt so maybe you could use a tutorial for that…

Thank you Jess :) I have used a fabric stiffener or a regular hairspray on a couple pieces that have a brushed out fringe such as mandalas or my door wreaths to keep the fringe from falling over. The hairspray works just fine for me (it should be a stronger one) and it's really easy to get it as well.
