I love this pattern. I’m so grateful you posted it! I do have to say that I’ve started over 3 times so far because the cords are too short. I do macrame a lot and I’ve never had such a hard time. It’s extremely frustrating. I feel like it’s somewhat easy to follow, but you speed the video up at the wrong times. So when I need to pay more attention, I have to change the playback speed because it goes too fast. The first 2 times I tried this I cut the cords at the exact length you mentioned and it was way too short. The third time, I decided to make all 8 cords 350cm and it worked. I didn’t use the same thick cord you did, but mine was thinner. So I don’t understand why my cords kept ending up too short. I just wanted to comment to let others know the frustrations I’ve gone through. I will say it’s all been worth it because my best friend loves the gift and after 3 tries I definitely perfected the pattern lol. Thank you!

I followed this with all of the measurements for my soprano ukulele and a lot of the cords are too short

Same here. Had to use my hot glue gun to piece some cords together to get the right length.

Upvoting this comment hoping it gets to the top. The lengths were waaaay too short for my Enya. I wasted so much time splicing in extra cord. And I had to splice in a TON of extra cord

Sorry about that. I got a few piece done with this measurements and they were all aright. I guess the problem here is the cord I used actually was 3mm (I might get the diameter wrong ). In this case, you can add additional to all the short cords by Square knots. You can find these tutorial on youtube. Sorry again!

It actually contributed to a bit of learning where we had to put in a bit of extra effort and figure out a way to make it work - that's a good thing! Hi! My ukulele is around 53cm. You can measure the length of your guitar. You should add (Your guitar's length - 53cm) x 2 for each cords. Exp: Your guitar is 102cm long => each cord should be added 98cm. Let me know if anything is unclear. Good luck!
