Hi, will the length of the rope used for the same design vary if I use a 3mm rope instead of the 5mm you used? Thanks!
@ginag562410 ай бұрын
i was hoping to see this answer! I looked online and one reply said to reduce by 40%. I was going to reduce by 30% just in case. Did you get a answer?
@wereallabitcrazee43124 ай бұрын
I have found that if I use 3 mm instead of a 5 mm the macrame piece ends up being way smaller and I wasn't happy with it. If I were you I would try to use a 4 instead of a 3 cuz I think you'll be happier with the outcome. If y'all have already done it in 3 mm how did it turn out?? It's a shame the tutorial creators don't make more of an effort to answer viewers questions about projects... So annoying 😠

Question; does the thickness of the dowel matter in this project or any projects. Also, does it matter how close or far apart the Larks knots are? I have too much room left in the middle of the DHHK’s. Please advise thank you
@wereallabitcrazee43124 ай бұрын
I think it's so rude for creators not to answer questions regarding their tutorial projects 😤 I have found that the thickness of the dowels do not matter but I find that using Driftwood makes my macrame projects look so much more beautiful. I don't live near a body of water to find my own driftwood so I found a girl on mercari I can tell her the length I need she goes and finds it at the ocean and she charges hardly anything and I have quite a bit of Driftwood now 🥰 if I'm following a tutorial I always go by their picture as far as my Larks head knots spacing. 😊 I hope this has helped you a little bit

@Sophianeykov Жыл бұрын
Ive made this pattern twice, however both times the measurements given in the video caused the final piece to be very, very short and uneven, and because it is so short you couldnt trim them. I ended up having to comb out the cord to make it look decent

I'm having the same issue. I used 3 ply rather than braided cord, don't know if that makes a difference? I'm still learning
@glitterandconfetti Жыл бұрын
Same. I'm going to have to alter the pattern, so it's not so short. Anyone who sees this I would double the length of the cords.
@rociosancho96456 ай бұрын
I had the same problem and I used 4mm rope, which would reduce the thickness and there would be excess rope, but no. I have been able to finish the work and there is some rope left over but the measurements are very fair.

Hi I love your creation and I would like to try it myself!! But I have one question, I have a 3 mm rope, will it work nicely or should I add one layer of each node? If so, do you think that 3 meters would be enough..? Sorry about the questions, but it's literally my second time doing macramè arts, I'm still learning 😊
@MacramePrincess2 жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you 🤍 If you’re using 3 mm you’d actually need to cut shorter cords (but cannot say what length exactly, as my calculations at for 5mm). I have plenty of tutorials for 3 mm on my channel though, you could scroll and choose something 🤍(they are usually those which are not made of white cord)

I just made this today and I used 3mm cord. Ironically I had 11 feet of cord left over from another project so I used that and I had just a little over a foot left over on my shortest cords. I do work a little tight so if you work normally then 11 feet of 3mm cord should be perfect. Also I have left 4 1/2 inches of hanging cord at the bottom of my piece for aesthetics purposes. The finished measurements of just the macrame part of my piece (minus the stick) was 14 inches long and 6 inches wide just in case that's also helpful.
