What happens to Ororo is like a chemical castration. And as for How Magneto can touch her is that he has a thin layer of electromagnetic force field so it feels like she is being touched.

yeah they explained it in the comics...it's like a electromagnetic condom over Magneto's entire body.

They did explain it in the comic books.....Magneto could touch Rogue because he puts an electromagnetic shield around himself...condom thin...which allowed him to get close to Rogue without her draining him......but for the "97" they might have a different explanation....hope they do explain it in up coming episodes...another GREAT episode this one was.

So I believe its magneto usually his powers to make it feel like they are touching but technically their atoms don't ever touch but in the comics rouge eventually get control over her powers so she can touch people without zapping their power and such

Yeah Rogue can do that, not only does she take on the powers of those she touches, but she also takes on every single on of their memories and all their knowledge. She's badass as fuck

essentially magneto can use his powers to allow him to shield himself from her touch enough to prevent her power from triggering but close enough that she can still feel him as if they were touching. so it is like the magnet example you mentioned but like on a microscopic level such that she can't tell the difference. in fact to make it even more realisitic the brain will often makes so many assumptions on our behalf that if it looks like they touching her own brain could just be creating the sensation of touch despite the microscopic seperation created by her powers (just like if you lose an arm you are still able to feel the phantom sensations of having an arm)

I thought the same thing when Storm left but it makes sense she wouldn’t want to be around everyone using their powers. That would be a bummer for sure 😭

Rogue and Magneto can touch because his electrical powers can cancel/block her powers so that they can touch & everything else! 😊

Storm losing her powers is one of the best arcs in the Xmen comics. You'll see. Hopefully they'll be able to do it well in the show. So far, I trust them.

I'm a day 1 Gambit fan since the early 90s and they definitely got it wrong. NO ONE in X-Men is supposed to be cooler or have smoother lines than this man. His entire character layout essentially is him being the cool factor on the team. As is Wolverine is the grumpy hot head that kicks ass, Cyclops is the boring straight arrow and leader of the team, Beast is the brainiac, Morph was the goofball who got killed off early to make room for Jubilee who's the young inexperienced teenager. Storm was the dignified and caring badass that controlled lightning. Rogue was the sassy feme fatal. And Jean was whiny and the source of contention between Cyclops and Wolverine. I love the new series but definitely not feelin how Gambit is gettin played by the writers.
