Use fundamentals of trigonometry. Cos 30 = adjacent side / hypotenuse First calculate half of across flat. Apply this value as adjacent side in above formula. You will get hypotenuse. Multiply it by 2. You will get across corner distance. That is same as minimum diameter of raw material
