Hey Everyone! I'm Mr. Willis, and You Will Love Economics!
In this video, I will:
- Define basic terminology associated with the federal budget, such as revenue and expenditures
- Explain budget surplus, budget deficit, and a balanced budget
- Discuss cyclical and structural surplus/deficit and how it is associated with periods of
economic expansion and contraction
- Explain the difference between the federal deficit and national debt
- Analyze the parts of the federal budget that are uncontrollable year to year, such as interest
payments on the national debt and expenditures from previous administrations
- Investigate how the use of fiscal policy will affect economic conditions, and well as budgetary
conditions in an aggregate economy
