yup exactly seems like people just go straight from normal to hell but i remember that you can find a lot of good stuff on nm, people just say you cant drop this or that because the alvl is too low but its very important (especially on hc) to use nm to find the medium gear to make hell more mangeable and not go to hell with crappy normal gear. I mean i dont want to bring the whole debate of sc vs hc but yeah you have to be way more careful on hc, on sc you can try your luck in hell in any location when the worse that can happen is you lose some exp. Before ladder when i played javazon i dropped titans from eldritch and that was what made playing hell so much easier than with some random crappy javelins :D

Magic find doesn't effect charm drops. If the monster is high enough level to drop a Gheed's, magic find will increase the chance of that succeeding. So the short answer is No MF, pure kill speed.

I m sorry if I missed it coz I was rushing thought your video a bit, but a) are small charms from Baal capable of a miraculous roll or it doesn't matter? Small charms are not worth rerolling. And that's up to you. I'd sell the skiller because you'll reroll it over 100 times on average to get a specific charm you want.

Am I missing something or just having bad luck? I’ve run nm cows 25-30 times since seeing this video and have not had a single skiller drop, plenty of grand charms, but zero skillers. Second question: for the grand charms I have received from nm cows would rerolling them again and again, even if the item level changes to something low (example item level 5) eventually produce a skiller?

at 16k hp its not required, but if you are running super budget Nova the static threshold is 25%, so if you can deal 4k damage you can kill NM cows en-mass. Cows also drop Um so you can make up a CM and get cows into the negative rez.

the ilvl doesn't explain why skillers gc would drop more often in nightmare cows than hell cows for say...although nightmare seem to have much better odds for exceptionnal items than when trying to get exceptionnal from hell(SoJ,Skin of Viper magie are good example shown in the drop calculator)...which is...weird....like the closer a boss ilvl is to an item ilvl the better the odds.........maybe gc mods work the same way(although not shown in the drop calculator) ?........ilvl wise....ilvl 50(start at flayer jungle nightmare)...ilvl 61 start at crystalline passage onward(some nice urns(although idk if they count toward the max elite spawn in the map) + Cows at ilvl 64.....if my guess is correct...flayer jungle should have hightest odd to roll a skiller mod although they cap at 30 life

As a returning player after a long long hiatus. The biggest issue I encountered coming back was the pace of the game. So many games in the last ten years plus have been so good at quick gratification. Coming back to this, what a difference. For reference. Diablo 3. You can get yourself from 1-70 solo in 3 hours’ish. (Everybody is different. I’m just trying to generalize). After 70, you can get a set and doing t16 runs within 12 hours. Two to three days into a season, you’re done with the entire conquests. Diablo 2. You are most likely, still farming nightmare for good enough gear to get thru hell three days in. You might be farming some hell spots, but not your main farm yet. You’re looking at a solid week of play to craft an enigma. Two weeks for a fully geared hdin. So when you get the question “how do you get good gear?” .. the answer is play. Just play. You will never get gear watching twitch and KZbin. Get in a game and start killing. It’s the only way.

yes, but IF you are at a certain point able to clear hell cows, id swap to that then. Let alone hell bases, highrune drops, etc. that MIGHT drop while farming for charms. Those can be traded for runes wich maybe can be traded for charms that are needed then. That being said, NM cows are probably one of the best spots to farm if you cannot consistently farm certain hell areas youd like to.

I would wager that NM cows is actually better than almost any place in hell for at least the 1st week if you aren't a no-lifer. Clear speed is a major factor until you get a very meta character build going. The things that sell quickly early are plain skillers and mid runes (up to Ist). The elite people are always chasing Enigma, but for most that isn't the goal for the first few days.

11:35 it's not because people aren't farming areas that drop jewelry/charms, it's because rare items are statistically very difficult to roll well. Also farming for items in pub games is just a bad strategy, you get fewer drops per person than doing p1, unless you're running a pickit script or something. The biggest downside to farming nm cows is that you're missing out on all of the good bases aside from mage plates, and you cannot find any high runes. (technically you can drop vex from champion+ nm cows but extremely uncommon) Hell Andariel is a better place for jewelry/charms, and has the added benefit of dropping a lot of uniques. Nm cows could be a decent place to farm for a couple hours on day 1-2 to get some res charms, but after that you're just wasting your time. also, while you showcase that a certain ring/amulet *could* drop in nm cows, if one of those affixes has a higher level range than what can drop from nm cows, your odds of finding that ring or better are doubled for every higher tier of affix available if you were farming in a zone high enough to drop the highest roll of that affix. So that ring you showcased, 10fcr/15str/30life/30fr/11@/10mf, that ring or better is 4x as likely to drop in an area where the life and strength can roll the affix level

You're mistaken; Rolling a 91+ Charm will give you higher chance to roll at least 30 life skiller because those 2 higher tiers (i77 and i99) are increasing the range of the life value. The game rolls for the affix type (life), and then rolls the range within the available pool you have. So if you cap the life roll at 35 (NM Cows), getting skiller with 30+ life is much harder compared to a charm that could also hit 45 on the same value. What you describe has some useful cases in other items, but when it comes to life skillers, no. For example the odds of getting 20life/5allres small charm is 0,05% on a 60-70 small charm compared to 0,04% on 71 or higher. You can check this stuff on the maxroll item create tool!

To be a little more clear, because I understand capping the potential roll on life affix will reduce the chance of getting a 30 lifer specifically. Let's say the goal was to simply obtain skill charms. Any additional mod would just be a nice bonus. Life or not. If it came to just rolling for skillers, would the odds be better for the NM cows or the Baal Gc then? I think there could be two paths or train of thoughts on this method. Either rolling specifically for skillers, plain or not, or rolling baal GC for the *potential* at the maximum possible outcome.

@@SpookyNine619 According to maxroll item generator (EDIT: to only hit skiller mod ignoring the second mod): i50 (earliest +1 skills can spawn) is 1/460 for any individual mod or 21/460 to hit any of the 21 possible options. i64 (nm cows) is 1/468 for singular or 21/468 for any and i91+ (Diablo, Nihla, Baal) is 1/484 or 21/484 for any So when rerolling, even if you only care about the skiller mod and ignoring all other secondary stats, you should only reroll the i91+ ones. Doesn't mean NM Cows is bad for farming them, it's just not ideal for rerolling

Charms are always Magic by default and Magic Find only changes the chances of it being Gheed's Charm. MF doesn't change an item's drop rate, only the chance that it's Magic Quality or higher.

MF just works in case of a unique charm (Gheeds). The more MF you have, the better is the chance to get a Gheeds instead of a magic GC.

MF does never increase drop chance. You do a kill, then an item drops (e.g. a Shako) and then the game rolls if it is unique if not, it rolls if it is set (not possible for shako, so skip), rare, magic, white. MF increases the chance for you to receive a higher rarity of item.

Nobody want's to trade off there good charms. You just gotta farm them and hold them. The main currency in game however are HR, so you just got to get on that Trav, Cows and Chaos rotation so you have currency to trade. It's tough but I wouldn't change it. Chase items are what define the game IMO.

Thank you dude!!! i went back to cows nm and cleared 10 runs and got alot of gems and 1 gc, i cubed the gems to perfect and rerolled the charm 2 times, i got a jav skiller with 12fhr, i traded it for sur rune!!!! Never thought about doing cows nm for items that can be worth alot :)

also dont forgett in nightmare cows you can actually drop ist runes kinda rare tbh but in this ladder i saw 1 in nightmare so u dont realy loose too much in terms of high runes as they even drop rare at all and with a couple of skiller pgems some uniques u can make good trades to get the runes u need for like enigma infinity with lightning fury or trap sin u rush nm cows pretty fast

You forgot to mention one more thing: Unique rings can only drop once per game, so IF you get a UNIQUE ring, it's worth the time and effort to go and kill ANDY because your already in nightmare. This is how I also get my first 2 SOJ, all while doing nightmare cows.
