My dad was a fireman in Austin TX for 35 years. He got to the highest rank you can get while still working at the station, he didn’t want to be a suit. Probably 80 but maybe higher percentage of their calls are not related to fires but anytime and ambulance is dispatched a fire truck is too because they have necessary equipment as well as training to do a good amount of stuff and paramedics can do. So they go to a lot of car wrecks where they’ll help with hurt people but also clearing the road, especially if something flammable spilled. The “smaller” stuff like that is a lot of the job. They work 24 hours on 24 off I feel most oriole know that though. My dads station had a little gym with squat rack which is big for them carrying all that gear. Watch a lot of sports/movies, cook, read. Decent amount of down time but like I said they go ti all the wrecks. When someone gets in a wreck that needs help and calls 911 they dispatch both and ambulance/ fire truck and cop there asap.

Sorry for writing so much in the above post, just trying to help. My dad says he’s had one kid dropped off at their place but within like a day he got picked up by and aunt. Big t said a couple of fires a week and that all depends on how big the city/town you’re in. A big city like new York will have more obviously. The neighborhood also plays a factor, cuz lower income will do stuff like heat house with oven door open or some stove top burner and those situations are usually good.

What the bell was Billy talking about when he went on his America rant. “We were tricked” tricked about what and by who that was very vague of him. I get the points he was trying to make but he himself needs to start by looking his own self in the mirror. Billy spreads a lot of misinformation, or talking points of people who’s goals and actions are the exact opposite of what he was preaching in that moment.

He’s ultimate point was that he wants people to all be on the same page and love and appreciate being American. I agree in that we need more cohesion, national pride, respect for one another and their religion/way of life. My problem with Billy saying this is he’s a trump guy and has spewed his rhetoric on this podcast, and personally I think trump as a whole is the exact opposite of what Billy said he wanted. Trump/GOPs whole immigration plan, his plans on dealing with foreign affairs as far as ending war in Ukraine which he won’t, and he’ll back Israel 100 percent. The privatization of schools and the end of public education as we know it which heads perfectly into the privatization of prisons, b/c those uneducated kids will grow up and need a place to go live is I think how they plan it to go. Basically Billy needs to do a lot of soul searching and maturing and most important of all he needs to talk a lot less, and listen a lot more. He thinks he knows a lot about a lot and he knows a little about a lot which is good, but he’ll never learn (hear) the parts he doesn’t know if he is so focused talking about the parts he does know.
