one thing i have to say is, from a business stance for a live service game, you obviously need heavy hitter characters, but i also know firsthand how good letting underdogs get a spotlight can mean. I started watching Steven Universe because i played and enjoyed Garnet, and i was curious about her outfit where she had a wedding dress. Its now one of my favorite shows, plus ive seen the spinoff, and the movie. It genuinely made me encouraged to learn about the characters i didnt know about.

They need to work on their ranked. It was horrible. Plus, why am I getting matched with the same team every time I try to get a match? I could even wait an hour, come back and then still get that same team. It got to a point where if I had to wait until that team got a match before clicking just to temporarily get new opponents, hoping that they didn't finish around the same time.

Multiversus would’ve thrived if the gameplay was like this during the relaunch. Have all characters unlocked & sell a lot of highly popular skins for fair prices, it would’ve been super successful. I’m so sad the direction for the game was so bad, I love Multiversus.. 😢 my favorite game

The last two characters really show the lack of love for this game from the devs. Lola freakin bunny and Aquaman. Not Gumball or Darwin. Not Ben 10. Not Gwnerator Rex. Just the same characters from similar universes.

Devs can't put in whoever they please. Licensing is a thing and it costs so if they don't have permission to use a character it simply isn't happening. Now take into account the game struggled to make any money, that further limits your budget for licensing characters.

I don’t think this will be the last we see of MultiVersus. I think the game will eventually attempt to make (another) comeback and I hope the developers will have learned from their mistakes and make a truly great game that will stand the test of time. Stranger things have happened.

I definitely disagree about the “hard hitters” needing to be added immediately. I like having the more niche stuff too, characters like Beetlejuice are so cool to see and Jason, despite having never seen a movie he was in, became my favorite character. I was just simultaneously hoping the game wouldn’t shut down because frankly I saw it coming. If the game had survived for years then this wouldn’t be a problem at all. They also improved the monetization over time, I was constantly getting event skins and building up currency over time with just one purchase of the battle pass. The prices of the skins in the shop were too much but frankly I never felt the need to buy those because of all the ones I was getting otherwise (this is one of the things that could’ve helped monetization for them, however. Which could be a major reason for the game’s failure. Also I gotta say I agree with not having every character automatically unlocked. No reason for it). The gameplay itself also wasn’t a problem imo aside from the balance and some hitbox/glitch stuff here and there, I liked the speed of it and adding stuff like the shield because of player feedback kinda ruined it for me. I think it’s a massive shame that it’s shutting down, I honestly enjoyed it more than Smash Bros. I’ve seen a lot of these diagnoses for why the game failed and for me almost none of it mattered. I can’t really understand why most people didn’t like it as much as me. Great art style, great roster, had a lot of fun (and frustration, as with any multiplayer game) with it. A shame.

Nah you can’t rag on additions like Beetlejuice and Black Adam just cause you’re not familiar with them doesn’t mean they weren’t awesome iconic inclusions. Sure we should’ve gotten other characters but Beetle and Black Adam definitely deserve their place they’re not a fucking banana guard they’re both huge. They’re not the most crazy hype things but they’re good additions and Beetle is WB pulling on ALL of their IP’s they were good in inclusions and set good precedents.

Yeah but 2v2 gets too chaotic, at that point I don't get a rewarding feeling from my input because it feels like i'm mashing into nonsense. Also the gameplay in general feels ass. The characters being bigger was indeed better, it's easier to hit moves, but the speed is so fuckin' HORRIBLE. Like the human brain is just too fast to slow down to the pace of that game.

Like i swear to god, I once just went Shaggy and all I did was side special, his fucking kick is predictable, but the slowness of the game just gives it priority somehow. I'm not kidding, I won like hella matches, also Joker was busted but I did sometimes beat him even with that stupid ass strat.
