First of all, it was not Macron who chose Bayrou, but it was Bayrou who blackmailed him. He threatened to leave the Macronist coalition. Then Bayrou has no more room for maneuver than Barnier. I think what people on both sides do not understand is that both the UK and the EU are ruled by ((international finance)) and as such the laws that actually matter are dictated to both entities. The UK never really had any prospect of leaving this arrangement because any government that foolishly believes itself to be sovereign will get replaced very quickly and replaced with a puppet (Truss/Sunak).

What are you talking about, companies now have to fill out export paperwork at great expense, causing delays in both exports and imports, , causing the rise in prices at a quicker and higher rate than anywhere else in Europe, industry suffering from the lose of EU subsidy that the UK government has not replaced, the UK is suffering from massive staffing shortages of skilled and unskilled workers causing companies and farms to massively cut back on production. We have to pay back the massive debts we owe the EU as what paid into the EU was far less than what we received back from the EU year on year. 🤔
