Mactics, what has drawn me to your channel was Destiny - I was a new solo player, going through a rough patch in life, and wanted to learn about the game. What has kept me coming back is your genuine kindness and "pay it forward" focus. That's central to everything you do. It won't change if the lights go out on Destiny. Hang in there, you'll figure things out.

I've been browsing Twitter on this matter all week (bad choice), and then immediately hopping on the game and I'm still having fun. I'm still creating memories with friends- doing 4-man raids and silly challenges and grinding out content that we love doing. The game has never felt dead to me, and while everything we've heard this past week has been disappointing and rather detrimental, I'm so glad there's someone out there who believes we're not done playing Destiny. I've been an ongoing player thanks to meeting my partner during Season of the Seraph, right before Lightfall. Before that I was a very casual reoccurring player with the D1 beta and even pre-ordering the release of the Taken King. But my love for the game has never been stronger than now, and I've felt so excited to be a part of this game and community. So seriously. Thank you, Mactics.

I think Into the Light was amazing because it filled a gap between the season and the expansion and it brought a mode that was requested for a long time. If you want to make build and guide videos like you’re Destiny 2 ones; I can’t recommend Warframe enough. The build crafting and quests are genuinely fun and enjoyable; and not once have I felt like I’ve been left out or felt stuck. The lore is well thought out and concise and makes the game play even better. The community is one of the best I have even been a part of; and are(for the most part, there are always the occasional “bad eggs”) helpful and welcoming and a big part of the story and game play making process with Digital Extremes. And the dev team is another reason why I keep coming back; because they care so much about the game AND the community; and are active participants in the community not just from a dev perspective. I’m genuinely excited and can’t wait for the next two big updates they’ve teased at TennoCon at the end of July. Especially the 1999 theme they have to the big update this winter. I can’t recommend giving Warframe a try enough. Oh, and it’s free to play. Like genuinely free to play; not just free to try. I’ll still be a part of the Destiny community, and your community by extension; but more from the sidelines than on the field.

I started playing games again in 2018, and Destiny 2 was one of the first ones I downloaded. Mainly because it was free, but also because my best friend passed the original so much. It was disappointing back then, especially playing alone. Just run as much as you could before your ammo was out, and log out. 3 years ago, my friends and I stopped playing CoD because we were unhappy with the state of the game, and they chose Destiny 2. I already had the game, but hadn't touched it in years. That revival has become basically an addiction. lol Even as a casual tryhard, I love the overall game, and some of the people that play it. I wouldn't trade it for the world. I'm as sad as anyone else to hear that we might being parting ways for good. Hope to see some of y'all starside before then.

The articles also say they are moving away from "regular paid expansions" and the "annual release model" they never said there wont be any expansions in the future. They just wont be regularly released (same time of year every year) or annual. They could be going down the line that final fantasy and wow go down with like every two or three years as it finishes development. Rather than requiring it be released every year and then apologizing every time they have to delay it. I think we will learn more details about that down the line.

If Destiny 2 made a free-to-try gateway (a content package of its own) then Bungie could use veteran players to sell the greater content. The gateway would include doable content like a pvp section, strikes, mini-dungeon or mini-raid, and a set-apart free-roam planet. The new player would then be matched with some veteran D2 players. Of course, veteran players would need some loot that they would gain for doing this. The key would be matching newcomers with veteran players. This could clear the confusion of expansions. I know they tried to tie it to (Oh geez if I want to play more I need to buy an expansion) but I feel it gives a "let down" feeling. Also, Bungie should package the expansions (bundle deals)! It would simplify package purchase decisions. My friend doesn't know which to pick, so a gateway format with veteran players would allow the veteran player to recommend one or all of the packages. My friend has accused me of working for Bungie, but they have purchased expansions. (We both might purchase that Lightfall dungeon key) lol. Finally, I love your builds. Thankfully you are making content like this or I would still be a burger, free-roaming and accomplishing nothing. The way you and this community put builds together is amazing and I love using them. I am working on getting better at building my own stuff. Builds are definitely an art. Thank you for all you do!

Got to admit Mac, I agree with pretty much everything you've said. I played D1 from launch through to Forsaken when i just lost interest due to burn out. I returned to the game back in March because i just wanted to play a good FPS game. During my off time i had switched to a PC from PS. Even knowing a lot of the back story, I was almost put off by the huge difference in the D2 i left to what it was a few months ago. I caught up on the story on youtube and slowly got back into the mechanics of the game until i had to put together my fist build... and after a small search found your channel and really enjoyed messing about with the builds you showed. They're easy to follow, and described slowly and methodically enough that my ADHD brain can actually absorb the info. Also, In to the Light was the bit that really got me 100% hooked again, Onslaught was just super fun to play and that comes from someone who was mainly a solo player. TLDR: I enjoy your content, and yes i even watched some of your Day 1 Raid for TFS, I think there will always be a place for someone who respects the players enough to just give honest and easy to understand advice in any game. That said, lets hope there is more life in D2 yet, as I've just started my 2nd character and I want to try some of your Titan builds next 😁🤘

I just happen to watch a viseo on YT of a building and the way you explain wach build and what each thing is going to do is what kept me coming back. I cant catch streams due to family and work but ill always support when i can. You’re genuine too. That makes all of the difference. I hope to see you at GCX.

I really like this take, man. I felt the same way when I read they wanted to do more like Into The Light cause that’s actually what brought fun back into the game for me after a long break. Thanks for making a real video and not just being doom and gloom. A lot of people took these lay offs personally when in reality it’s a business. Someone decided what they’re doing isn’t working from a financial and player retention standpoint so now it’s time to change it up.

Your builds are top notch. Your channel is the one I go to any time I'm looking for a build. Your omni hunter build is the only reason I use something other than my warlock. I break it out every GM season and it saves my team time and time again. So thank you for that and I definitely appreciate the optimism in times like these.

Started playing Destiny since the alpha in 2014, I was mostly a solo player in the full game until a freind (who sadly passed away in January) Got me into raiding. Had some good times raiding with people from around the world. Met some good people raiding even keep intouch outside of Destiny. Will still be playing for a long time yet. Always come to your videos to see what builds you're testing out and giving them a go myself.

Love to hear that you're sticking with it. I've been in Destiny since the D1 Alpha. Right when I started to drop off a couple years ago, I discovered your channel and build videos and it completely reignited my passion for the game and I've been at it ever since. I hope you're right and that we keep getting good quality content. That said, if doomsday does come, I think you'd do great creating build videos for other games. Destiny is a beast and something will fill the empty space if it comes to that. I will say that I'll honestly mourn the loss of Destiny if it goes that way and I'll be desperately looking for a replacement. Maybe you can help people like me find that happiness when the time comes. Keep on truckin'

Dude I've been playing video games 40 plus year's. Love them. Destiny is one of the greatest. I started watching streams and stumbled on you're video's. Love watching them. Very well explained and creative. You remind me of a kid I grew up with, he was very creative (artist drawing) very articulate like you. He lost his life at 16. I'm 55 and I think about my friend a lot. Stumbled upon your vid and you reminded me of him a lot, just reminds me of being a kid. Thanks. Hope it doesn't seem weird.

Raids and dungeons are the best thing the game has to offer. We don’t need big DLCs, we need multiple teams making raids and dungeons, and for the game to swap to a subscription model. I personally only play for raids and see all the other stuff as a waste of development time.

I started D1 Beta. No other game is the same to me. No game as unique and fulfilling. Sure, I will play other games, or go back to games like Fallout or Skyrim that also hold a place for me. But, not like this. No other game out there fills the void Destiny leaves. Even as Toxic as the community can be, it's way more not that. It's much more meaningful and nice, chill, etc than the outliers that people tend to focus on. We all face this together and I think that you have solidified your self as someone that can transcend any game.People gravitate to YOU more than the game. Just keep doing you, we will be here.

Thank You so much you do, have done and will do in the future. You taught me I was playing destiny all wrong. It was a game I struggled at and now I can help others. Thank You so very much. The little bit of support I gave cannot repay what you have done for my entertainment hours. Thank you my brother

Hey Mac, long time viewer here, just wanted to say i have loved your content over the years and i have recently moved most of my gaming time to Diablo 4, the first thing i noticed is that there is not someone like you in the Diablo 4 community that sits you down and explains to you every aspect of the build like you do in Destiny 2. i think it would great for you to dip your toes into that content, and as a bonus have you carry your community to end game content like mythic farming for end game builds. keep up the great work see you in your next video.

I was one of the 220 laid off. Your optimism is the outlook I wish more players would have for Destiny. I was hyped helping Destiny get where it's going and that didn't change with my employment status. I'm frustrated with leadership that led Bungie here, but I do like where Destiny is at and where it is headed.

Thanks for all the help with guides over the years, you’re an example of what’s truly good and positive about the destiny community. This latest trauma to the destiny community is still fresh. Il be very surprised that either the existing staff at bungie or Sony come up with big plans for its future at some point. Rally to the call for the games future and let the good people who play it come together to help secure that.

I was having this exact conversation with my godson last night. I wasn’t real serious about this game until he started playing. We’ve done so much together and our relationship has gotten stronger. He lives 1800 miles away from me but when we’re playing it’s like we’re in the same room. I’m more realistic about the future of this game. I think Bungie is gonna fold in a couple of years. I also think it is Sony who’s driving this downfall like they’ve done so many other games.

14:53 and that right there is one of Destiny's biggest problems. I saw a comment on another vid saying that Bungie wastes an extraordinary amount of resources on Raids. Yes, the raids are cool, but we have the metrics on how many people run raids, and it's only around 11% of the community. It doesn't make sense to pump so much time and energy into content that most of the playerbase won't ever see. Those resources would be better spent on more strikes, more PVP maps, more content like Onslaught, etc. You know, stuff that everyone can jump into.

Mactics, keep doing d2, but also start doing other games, its your personality and desire to teach that makes your videos fun aand entertaining and useful - that ability wil do you well in any game, so even if d2 does end, which it will end some day, today or 5 years later - like all things do end - youre always placed to make good content.
