When I first listened to this track, it had a bit of a mixing issue that made the vocals sound kinda off, so while I trusted that the final rendition would fix the issue, I still had a bit of apprehension towards it. And was I correct to be apprehensive ? Eh, not fully but still a bit. I must absolutely mention that the song sounds really good and I much prefer this version to the instrumental by far. The vocals are, for 90% of them, extremely well performed and implemented in a way that fits the instrumental quite well (will elaborate on that later). But there is the 10% left of the vocals that I'll admit sounds a bit off on the delivery, most notably the song's chorus. It fits the instrumental pretty well in terms of rhythm but the delivery it has feels weird. Not quite offkey but just weird, hard to pinpoint exactly what causes the issue. I think it's the fact that the end of each delivery feels too "flat", the note of each line just stays on for too long without any shift in its tone which makes it feel almost like siren (the alarm kind) instead of a sung line. The final rendition of the chorus (starting at 2:40) improves on the issue by having a slight increase in tone for the last note of the lines but the issue is still there. Now I must make it clear that this isn't a jab at the singer, as I've said before and will elaborate on later, the vocal performance is in generally really good for the song. It's just the chorus (and a couple of other lines that are too minor to note) that has this issue which I guess is more so caused by the way the lyrics are written then the way they're sung. And even then, while it is a con, it's most definitely outweighed by the quality of the track as a whole. Speaking of which, time to speak about all the good things this song has. And there's a pretty notably amount of them. Of course as said before I really appreciate the general inclusion of the lyrics throughout the track as it makes the song feel way more dynamic and stand out than the instrumental on its own. All that while not clashing at all with the instrumental but just adding onto it (helps that the instrumental itself didn't really have much that stood out, which is why I'm always looking forward more on the soon-to-be vocal tracks that have pretty "standards" instrumentals because they have the most potential to be amazing once vocals are added) which makes the whole thing feel fluid and not offkey at all. And of course this goes hand-in-hand with the generally really good vocal performance of the singer throughout the song. As I've said, aside from the chorus, all of the track stands out really nicely in the way its sung. It doesn't feel offkey in the slightest and generally is appreciable to listen to. Special mention for the whole entire 1:12-1:40 segment which is especially good to me. It uses a dual lyrics method (I have no idea if it even has a real name instead of what I just called it) with lyrics playing before others are over and the way it's done makes the whole entire segment feel especially fluid and catchy. Here the fact that the last bit of each delivery ends up on a flat note actually helps the track because the next line that starts at that point is here to take back the spotlight, making the static note work as a sort of "supporting instrument" which is really good. As a whole this entire segment is most definitely the highlight of the track. It perfectly combines all the good bits of the song, from the great vocal performance to the good mix of instrumental and lyrics passing by a generally catchy and dynamic feel, it's got everything that makes the track good. Of course most of the song as a whole is really nice, but this part in particular stands out amongst the rest. Overall this track is one I was a bit apprehensive at at first but that actually ended up being extremely appreciable aside from a small issue with the song's chorus. Of course as I said before this issue is a borderline nitpick given how much it's outweighed by the song's general quality but it's still there so I must note it. Regardless, aside from that the song is extremely catchy, appreciable to listen to and has no issue combining its vocals and instrumental in a great way to benefit both sides of the track without leaving one behind or making them clash with one another. Amazing job to both artists with this.

Vocalist here! 👋 Thank you so much for your in depth review/analysis! To speak on your point regarding the chorus notes - I can say that was the biggest challenge for my delivery. In retrospect, those sections in particular were likely in a part of my range that tends to "break" (maintaining the note becomes difficult). I did so many takes to do the entire track justice, so I'm grateful you were still able to enjoy the song!! 🙏
