I'm listening to this with my American wife..I'm 25 and keeping what my parents played when I was a kid on the weekends while they made food..and then we as a family cleaning the whole house..I used to hate this type of music but now I love it

Same. Everything changes when you grow older and have children. We look to our roots. Also, the lyrics are so profoundly true.

I wouldn't say hate, more like we didn't understand it. It is just music our parents play. Now we learn to appreciate it. The meaning is crazy. Even the new khmer music can't even compare to it no matter how much they try. That why u see all these covers still. Not just in the state but Cambodia itself. Nothing can beat our grandparents era ❤

I always remembered my dad used to play this in his car, so i asked him, "Why do you play Sin Sisamouth's songs so frequently?", he said it was a way to remember his past, as his dad was a survivor from the khmer rouge, and also always used to listen to Sin Sisamouth before he passed away.

RIP Sinn Sisamouth. Though I am sad about what happened to Cambodian artists, I am grateful to be able to listen to them now. Thank you for the English translation. Greetings from the Philippines.

Hearing this song as an adolescent. I never understood the significance. But listening to it now and getting a great sense of nostalgia, I am grateful for the translation. But most definitely, some of the best lyrics put forward in a song. I vow to learn the khmer lyrics and sing it. 😊😂

Same! I'm not even khmer, but had a khmer friend growing up. I discovered sinn sisamouth and felt his music speak to my soul. His spirit lives on. I'm glad this song wasn't lost to time.

This song is so nostalgic, I'm 42 and remember my mom playing his songs while she cooked and clean. So emotional listening to them now, especially the meaning of this actual song.

O timbre de voz dele é semelhante a um cantor de brega brasileiro chamaro de "franquito lopes o índio apaixonado". Inclusive essa música tem um ritmo parecido com o brega.
