Mad Madmen - "Mad Mad Woman"
[Instrumental Intro]
[Verse 1]
I met her at a chicken bar (Chicken, chicken)
(We were) introduced by a friend of ours
(She had) long black lush, curly hair
And eyes so high
[Chorus]
She's a mad mad woman
Got to know you
Mad mad woman
Got to know you
Mad mad woman
Got to know you, got to know you, got to know you
[Verse 2]
I asked her out to a shisha bar (Shisha, shisha)
But she was busy, so she took a rain check
[Bridge]
Good thing was we kept in touch
Even though we needn't say much
We talked a lot of life and such
Needless to say it was true love
[Guitar Solo]
[Chorus]
She's a mad mad woman
Got to know you
Mad mad woman
Got to know you
Mad mad woman
Got to know you, got to know you, got to know you
[Instrumental Outro]
ABOUT THE SONG:
"MAD MAD WOMAN is a song deeply rooted in alt-rock chordal structure, with a hint of progressive flavoring, and psychedelic nuance; emphasizing on personal experience as the narrative foreground.
The song was composed by bassist Marvin Muhammad and presented to guitarist Kalam Mahardhika who would later on write the lyrics.
The initial idea started with the chorus which became the mainframe for the rest of the song. It was later on developed when both Marvin and Kalam would meet up to assess the completion of the song - in which they would address the narrative context through the verse and come up with 5/8 odd time signature for the intro and outro. The bridge serves as a conclusion to the narrative in which Kalam addresses his initial feelings regarding meeting and interacting with a former love interest of his who would later pass away.
The guitar solo is Kalam's attempt at a minimalistic sound - emphasizing slurs, hammer-ons; and double stops whilst attempting to appropriate the chord changes."
