it was the one that totally sets the universe'. it defines the very genre. it sets the absolute reference for anything post apo. but lets face it. its really not up to rhe standard. its definitely kitsch. its totally inferiior to modern movie making. it really looks like its a z series movie. ine definitely has to' separate the ambiance which is pinnacle, from the movie making quality, which is lackluster

They would have gotten away with doing whatever they wanted in the Outback at the time. More incredible is that they only had one take, and it was also the set they filmed most of the movie in. There was no going back for reshoots of previous scenes, and no second takes if half the explosives were duds. This was it, and they freaking nailed it 👌

I think my list is only 3 or 4, but I consider this a perfect movie. Watching this clip, and I don't think I've seen the whole movie in 20 years, I can see the tiny clues of how old it is. But to have barely been a teen when this came out, in the early days of punk rock, it was like a miracle!!!

I sometimes scoff at how ineffectual the War boys are. But these guys were the OG Losers. They sent the B squad for sure. Those clowns only took out ONE car before they all three got wasted. Even Papa Gallo , didn’t even take out one motorcycle… JUST BUMP THEM, dummy… before he got knifed in the back by Humongous.

Well this whole rig chase was a planned suicide mission to put as much distance as possible between the actual fuel carriers and Humungus' gang. And there's also a strategic diffrence between two groups. One group consists of ex-civilians who only knew how to defend the gate so they probably used the same method defending the rig. Second group is a gang consisting of ex-military and ex-MFP who were trained for road wars.
