I always wanted to do higher studies in ROBOTICS. So I didn't even sit for placements in my B.Tech. I took drop for GATE, And now, this year, I will be joining IITB for my mtech. I am so glad that I am following my passion which I discovered when I was in my 8th std in school and still haven't given up on it and trying to pursue it.

Very nicely explained by Pallavi...IISc graduates from engineering background always have this confusion about IES and PhD..students have to identify their interest and take action accordingly.. Above that IES is surely most suitable for Civil Engineering and not for other engineering branches... Still, students who have monetary issues may join IES and they can always take study leave after five years of experience in IES; as government gives three years of study leave for PhD and two years for master study.. Best wishes..
