Might check and see if that monitor is from Europe. Could be using PAL video standard. Which means it's running at 50htz as apposed to North American 60htz. Put simple PAL runs higher resolution and at 50 fps instead of 60

I have a commodore 1701 monitor and those things are great for retro games. Surprisingly sharp. You can also buy cables that convert the commodore ports on the back to svideo. Amazing find.

I remember when I was around 13-14 years old I found a Commodore 64 collection at a church yard sale monitor and a whole wack of stuff for $20….. never picked it up. One of those big regrets, oh well!

Commodore 1701/1702 monitor for the win! Not only can you use the front AV ports, on the back with the chroma/luma ports if you use a Y cable and combine those signals, it's S-video! $100 is a great price for it too!

Also on the back there is a switch to go from the back ports to the front ports. You also need to adjust the horizontal dial on the front.

That C64 monitor is a grail item. Congratulations on finding it. If i remember right it also has Svideo input via an extra luma line (RCA). Could make an adapter cable and get even better picture quality then AV if the connected console supports it.

That Commodore 64 TV monitor is the same one I use to have as a kid I played all of my nes, snes and even ps1 games on this bad boy. I'm still on the hunt for one. Great find!

That monitor is usually used with the Commodore VIC 20, 64, SX64 and etc... I had one with my Commodore 64 in the 80's. Pretty cool score.

OMG!! That was a monitor you could buy for your Commodore 64. My uncle had the WHOLE SET UP. He had that exact monitor, the Commodore 64, and if I remember correctly about 2 external disk drives with it. I spent HOURS playing on that thing when I came to visit..mainly playing Ghostbusters or Dream House (I was an interior designer even then). When I was in middle school, he dismantled the set up and the monitor made its way downstairs to be hooked up to my cousin's NES. I can't count how many hours I played NES on that thing after school. I'm super jelly Chuck! Lol

His house was spot on. He had what he called the computer room and had 2 systems, the Commodore 64 and the Amiga along with a couple IBM clones. Downstairs, he had a big screen which was hooked into his stereo system for sound. The closet in his family room was where he had his stereo system. He also had a satellite which he could get pretty much every single channel out there (via scrambler)..so going to his house was like even better than going to the theater (lol and cheaper). His house was like a techno geek's Disneyland.

Me and my brother had one of those monitors back in the early 90s I never knew it was a commodore. We used for our NES SNES and Sega it probably got sold when times of tough. Funny enough I was watching this video while driving to batesville from the ashflat area which made it extra awesome

I need seriously hit up a flea market or two sometime, for now I lucked out at the Goodwill store with 8 seasons of married with children at $42. Most of the married with children dvd sets average 9 to 14 before shipping, so I’m saving major dollars on these dvd sets. I remember when dvd sets were like $35 to $40 back in the early 2000’s, and now watching your videos has got me dvd and CD hunting with once in a blue moon I’ll find a game or two.

@@retrorick thanks, I learned from guys like you and your friends on KZbin to scan stuff to see if I’m getting a deal or not. Even though I don’t sell on Amazon or eBay, I’ll scan things to see if I’m getting a good deal, so saving on average 4 to 7 dollars per box set is a deal.
