Actually the show aired in Japan AFTER. The Transformers first aired in the west on September 17th 1984, in Japan it started on July 6th 1985. Today its different though.

Well there is a reason for the transformers not being show as much as the human characters, and that reason is that CGI is VERY expensive. I didn't think the voice acting for them was bad and they did get Peter Cullen to voice Optimus, I also liked how different the designs for the autobots where compared to the decepticons. How did they "butfuck" the mythos that, may I remind you, changes with almost every new seriese/season/adaptation?

On The 1st half of Armada, not really. They focus more on those annoying brats and their mini-cons partners. It wasn't till Thrust's intro and Starscream changing sides is when the show actually focus of the robots. The brats were useless and didn't do anything except their time travel episode. At lease Sam try to help like freeing Bumblebee in Hoover Dam, guarding the Allspark, reviving Optimus, and dug up on the mystery of moon missions.

As a kid I remember owning the comics before the cartoon series started. It was weird seeing the difference in megatron. In the comic he resembled a gang leader or punk, yet in the cartoon he was the iconic villain.
