This is a great video Mad Zach's Musiago 1 hand finger drum technique really open the door for me. Also really opens the door for a 64 pad performance because the other hand can play other parts of the song while one hand plays the drums.

Sir, you have the gift of teaching...very elegant and instructive video...thank you...
@azagedon9 жыл бұрын
Great video. Most of the techniques Mad Zach is talking about could be used on any pad like a Novation Launchpad, all down to mapping as Ableton is crazy flexible. How he makes the most of a 1 shot is fantastic, the vinyl scratch sound is so simple but crazy good!
@Ableton9 жыл бұрын
Indeed, the pack can be played on a Novation Launchpad's Note mode in a pretty similar fashion. However, most Launchpads do not feature velocity for additional expression -except the Pro model.

I have always wanted to go the ableton live and push route, but I have been learning through FL Studio because to me it is so much more for beginners than Ableton and Logic, I have an ableton live intro that came with my audio interface, I swear it is like alien language.. I quickly realized that I couldn't just simply drag and drop a sound, I literally had to bounce between session view and arrangement looking around for what I would call the "playlist tab".. I know I will eventually have to switch due also to school. Seems like FL Studio is not used in many colleges

The 64PadLab apparently has some issues now (I'm on 9.7 btw) I've been playing with the kits (Awesome work MadZach!) but have noticed one thing, the ghost bus seems broken (it's not adding effect) and creates spikes my CPU meter. It was the samples that were assigned to the ghost bus creating the spikes, so I deleted the bus and at least the CPU isn't freaking out.
@yusefrincon81188 жыл бұрын
mad zach is awesome. I've noticed his trademark is finger drumming, could he however do a video explaining some of the other ways of producing/playing that a tool like ableton push could make possible for the user?
@thecyberben9 жыл бұрын
Great vid thx! Please tell me what kind of Mac you are using in it?
@joshbnet9 жыл бұрын
His use of the side chaining with the ghost bus is a great idea for a drum rack, but when he demo'd the implementation with the compressor it seemed that he was sending all of the drum pads through the compressor. I didn't catch any sounds not going through the compressor when he played. Am I correct? Otherwise this was an amazing video! Thank you!

The answer is probably here but, can you use the sound packs on the Novation Pro Pad? I'm a beginner trying to make amazing music. Please let me know if I can.

Yes, the Novation Launchpad Pro features a similar 64-pad drum kit layout on its Note mode.

I dont see where you can put the LFO on the BP filter in Live 9.7.2 for that scratch sound. Did that feature get removed?
@CaptainPhilosophical7 жыл бұрын
I figured it out. I didn't see the 4 different parameters the LFO can control. I increased the filter amount and I am good. : )

You might need to increase your buffer size & make sure "Reduced Latency When Monitoring" is checked.
@PoboyMusic6 жыл бұрын
@@auralponic. buffer size didn't work but I will try reduced latency thing tomorrow thanks. I did do a work around by putting all the drums in a group and using the group to trigger side chain instead

When he is talking about sidechaining, can someone explain that?
@anthonyparks5057 жыл бұрын
Sidechaining is when the input level of one signal (or 'track' in ableton) is used to affect the behavior of another track. It is most often used with compressors. For example, a bass guitar could be sidechained using the kick drum as it's input to lower the volume of the bass guitar automatically (for a short period of time) whenever the kick drum comes in.

It sounds like the limited display is a Mad Zack "trade secret" only? As a neophyte, I would like to request step by step of this activity. I suspect that a step by step could give most of us who are just learning Push to get a better understanding of Push's capabilities. This video shows everything already loaded not the step by step. Some of us could use that format to learning and development. That's my opinion and I could be wrong. Just curious if time permitted, we could be tutored with the step by step video. Thank you.
