In 1:25, the whispering voice sample reads as "埼玉じゃない!" which means "It's not Saitama!" because the character already passed out from the said city while he was riding on an unstoppable train that has been running.

Ah, today I learned that Japanese has its own separate morse code signs. Heya, caught sight of one of your videos and recognized that you made what might've been my favorite RDSRT level to play, so had to come check out what you've got - there may only be a couple here but they're both really cool! So, what does it mean when at the top (and at the beginning) you cycle through the titles for the Saitama, Kita Saitama, Mata Saitama, and Mada Saitama songs?
@stnfwds6 жыл бұрын
Glad you asked! They're just japanese for the title of the songs shown below. Mada Saitama is the fourth 'Saitama song' in the 2000 series, and that already gives it much identity because Saitama and Kita Saitama 2000(and the 2000 series as a whole) is pretty much one of the most representative songs in Taiko no Tatsujin. And a bit more elaboration on 1:19: Mada Saitama has a forked path that's deteremined by how well you do at the Kat rush(1:08~), and one of the two possible paths sequentially give you the highlight patterns of Saitama->Kita->Mata, which is pretty neat because it's what the songs are known for and is pretty much engraved into almost every veteran player as muscle memory
@David082256 жыл бұрын
Right, I can read the titles and get how the branching path mechanics work, I just didn't get the bit about "highlight patterns". So what you mean is, if you succeed in the challenge section, what follows is that famous "don kat don-don-kat don-dodokat-don-kat-don-dodokat" pattern from the chorus of Saitama 2000, and so on? Also at the beginning when you show all the previous Saitamas, is the song including some nods to them as well, or is that just something you thought would be a good way to start off the video?
@stnfwds6 жыл бұрын
@@David08225 Right! The Gogotime section includes the infamous Saitama pattern, Kita Saitama's infamously tricky D K D K D DKK D DK KD D K etc part, and Mata's Gogotime. This is also kind of a nod to Mata Saitama since that chart also includes said Saitama and Kita's pattern inside. Aside from that there's no relevant relation between any of them, I just thought it'd look cool showing all the Saitama songs played in the version they were first released as (AC 6, PSP, AC 14) :P Also glad you enjoy my microsized channel! I would def want to make more videos about things i like, if only i had the time to do so...
@David082256 жыл бұрын
Ah, I see, good explanations. That's pretty cool, almost like a Saitama remix. There's a lot of really good attention to detail in this analysis, and I'd certainly like to be able to edit videos nearly this well, here's hoping you can find the time to put out some more content eventually! Edit: Seeing some Mada Saitama gameplay much later, I think I realized that the "Saitama medley" pattern is actually the default for the song, meaning it's given to you if you _fail_ the kata rush challenge. When you succeed and move up to the Master track it seems like you're actually given something even harder instead.

Though the former Sampling Masters have long left namco, LindaAI-CUE is still keeping their style music alive within BANDAI NAMCO Studios Inc., and I will commend him eternally for this. I guess learning a lot from them in his earliest days at namco (when X-DAY2 came out) definitely shaped his music for the years to come... Edit: On that note, search up music by the Sampling Masters and you may be able to find more, both old and new. Things like their Ridge Racer work (Rotterdam Nation, Dr. Mad's Gone, Nitro Witch), X-DAY or even F/A (AKA Fighter & Attacker, one of Shinji Hosoe's earliest works), the Rhythm Jigoku releases, or even songs like Rotter Tarmination which is a fellow Taiko no Tatsujin song by the aforementioned Hosoe (MEGATEN/Sampling Masters MEGA).
