I can’t understand why Sony can’t seem to make good movies with the characters they have. You have it reversed. Look up Blackrock on investors DEI mandates and ESG scores. They are telling executives they have to do certain things for “diversity “ then the execs hire and pigeon hole directors to follow these mandates. The quality of Sony's live action Spider-Verse movies seems to drop movie by movie. Imo, Venom was good, but not as good as hyped. Morbius was bad, but never as bad as hyped (the first half of the movie was pretty decent). Nevertheless, the direction of these movies is clear and pretty alarming. I like many Spider-Verse characters such as Miles Morales, Ghost-Spider, Kraven, Morbius, Black Cat, and others, and I hope they would get a possibility to shine on the big screen. Now I'm afraid that Sony is ruining their reputation so that we won't see them in the MCU or anywhere else again.

Simply put, it’s not a movie. It’s a product. Remember when people used to write original scripts and then get a movie green-lit. Now studios give franchise crap like this a release date before they even have a story, let alone a script. No wonder it’s crap. The writers didn’t care. They were just writing to order. Like a teenager doing the bare minimum in their homework, just hoping for a 50% passing grade. Movies like this are pretty much always going to be crap. This is why Marvel are now having issues. Will Blade be good? Maybe. But it’s only being made and has a release date because it’s called Blade. A recognised name that Disney hopes to bank on. It’s not being made because someone had a good idea for a story and wrote a great script. Does it even have a finalised script yet. There are many great original ideas and stories out there. And despite how bad this may be, Madame Web will probable have sold more tickets than Oscar nominated scripts and films American Fiction and The Holdovers. Go see those great movies instead.
