A woman who has been thrown out into the street without any money by her jealous husband, when he discovers she has been carrying on an affair. She is not even allowed to see their young son.
Madame X (original title La Femme X) is a 1908 play by French playwright Alexandre Bisson (1848-1912). It was novelized in English and adapted for the American stage; it was also adapted for the screen ten times over sixty-five years, including versions in Tagalog, Greek, and Spanish as well as English
Lux Radio Theatre, sometimes spelled Lux Radio Theater, a classic radio anthology series, was broadcast on the NBC Blue Network (1934-35) (owned by the National Broadcasting Company, later predecessor of American Broadcasting Company [ABC] in 1943-1945); CBS Radio network (Columbia Broadcasting System) (1935-54), and NBC Radio (1954-55). Initially, the series adapted Broadway plays during its first two seasons before it began adapting films. These hour-long radio programs were performed live before studio audiences. The series became the most popular dramatic anthology series on radio, broadcast for more than 20 years and continued on television as the Lux Video Theatre through most of the 1950s. Typically American...wasting the 1st 5 minutes with bla-bla-bla, loud dramatic music, unnecessary overly-dramatic explanations, introductions, etc, then finally starts telling the story. Give me British story tellers any day!
