I got my son one of those Kidrobot horror series MadBalls - Predator. It was really cool - hard tho but I suppose it was more collector less for play ... although he did try to throw it around lol. I'm sure he would enjoy these! Wish they were a little bit better quality however.

yea get these for the kid, they are super light and will only break a few things in the house! lol
@roynutters2 күн бұрын
I agree 100% with your take on this. Definitely a cheapo version of those original renderings. I'll probably still pick up a Screamin' Meemie one for old time's sake if I see one but probably won't be picking up the whole set.

yea go for it, only $5. I just wish they were closer to the animations they posted. Do you own any originals?

Great video and honest review! Hopefully these will be the stepping stones to better madballs down the line. I’m wondering if the low product quality was a choice to save money for a low risk low reward, or was there a gap in communication between design and manufacturing?

Eh. I can take or leave any of the “modern” Madballs stuff - BUT - quality has always been good across the board. From 1985 all the way to the premium dna stuff…the word quality could always be associated with all things Madballs. This feels like a thorn in the legacy. Then again, I’m not the target audience so if someone ends up enjoying them then cool!
@RetroSlacker2 күн бұрын
@@FroggyFlips dude that’s what’s throwing me. Was there something behind the scenes that affected the quality? Was this a play for a new audience? Cheap small toys for a kid passing by? Kidrobot or JustPlay quality would be awesome. The artwork is the same as those two on the display box. I was fortunate to find a full display about 3weeks ago and now own a display 😂 I couldn't help it but the artwork on it is the same. There is some differences in the hair, I'm seeing two different types and it sheds easily. From the 27 I got the accuracy of the print to the mold is way off in most cases. By the way you can just unscrew the cap without removing the tape, the tape just holds the cardboard sleeve 😂@@RetroSlacker

I’ve never been more offended by a toy company in my life. It’s like they jumped on the nostalgia bandwagon and thought they’d so easily get the buyers that it didn’t matter what type of care they put into it. They’re basically duping the fanbase that helped build their legacy way back when. The horn head guy’s printed face, is so entirely off, that I couldn’t tell it even had an eye. They clearly have the ability to do better, considering the originals were made basically before the internet existed, and manufacturing back then was probably trash compared to what they COULD do now. It’s not a “can’t do better” situation, it’s a “don’t care to try” scenario, and it’s RUDE. Plus what’s the point of hairy balls if all the hair falls off as you play with them!?!
@RetroSlackerКүн бұрын
