Madden 17: How to play CPU vs. CPU in Franchise Mode

As would I but I've tested online franchise games and the SuperSim feature is unavailable in head to head games. Presumably, we could circumvent the system using the Madden 16 workaround, but that's a lot to coordinate with 32 users. You have to precisely follow the instructions otherwise it won't work, and just looking through the comments sections on that video, there's a number of people who couldn't get it to work for one reason or another.

Ok, so I just took a look at this. It works perfectly when you guys are playing AI opponents. The real question is what happens when you two play each other. Everything in offline Franchise, no matter how many users, is run through one controller. So, you can both draft, set all of you depths charts and whatnot by sharing a controller. Now, assuming you're the commissioner, when you go to play the game against your second user, the single controller will automatically lock on your team and can't be moved. The game won't force your second user to have an active controller. So you'll just start the game the same as you would against a CPU opponent and watch the game through SuperSim as usual.

Cool thanks for the info. My friends and I have an ongoing franchise in Madden 12 still where we drafted our teams and run all of the offseason moves ourselves. We quick sim our games vs the cpu opponents, but watch our games vs each other. The ability to do this has been removed from every game since 12, but it seems to be back this year. So thanks again for the info, and we may be finally ready to upgrade to a new Madden.

Yes. You can adjust the injury frequency in the gameplay sliders as well.

My friends and I like to do franchise leagues. Pick teams in the same division, draft and then spectate the games. Is that possible in this version?

Yes. Offline franchise is the easiest to do this, but it's still possible in online franchise if you put one of the two teams playing each other on autopilot before the game, and then switch autopilot back off after the game is finished

You can take over any coach from week to week and watch that game, then retire the character (won't force the coach to retire, you just hand control back to the CPU). You can't edit draft classes pre-draft, but as soon as the draft is over you can fully edit all of the players.

Does this mean unlike Madden 16 we don't have to take over all teams if we just wanna play a game with that team for a particular week? I'm also glad cpu vs cpu is back for franchise mode. I'm mostly into these games for the fun simulation and playing random teams than just having to manage a single team forever.Madden 16 really messed it up plus the annoying game freezes and losing progress. Now if only we could get create a team back like Madden 12 had ...

+Continuum7 you can jump in any week and take over a team's coach, owner, or player, watch or play that week's game, then retire the character. I just want to reiterate because it was be confusing, retiring any active (not custom made) character: meaning coach, owner, or player, won't actually retire that person. It just hand control back to the CPU. Also, I doubt create-a-team is coming back any time soon. That's being restricting by the NFL and isn't just being ignored by EA. To bring it back, they'll need NFL approval.

Jump into a game like you’re going to play. Pause game before the opening kickoff and go to supersim, select ‘slow’ and ‘end of game’ and it will play out in cpu vs. cpu

I checked Operation Sports forums yesterday and I didn't find any. I've only been only to play through 4 games so far on All-Pro and it actually seems pretty well balanced. I haven't started messing with Sliders yet, but I'm keeping an eye both QB accuracy and Interceptions (decrease) and fatigue (increase). Those are the only things that have stood out to me in the limited time I've had to watch games.

Its like coach mode and its actually way better then playing itnand more challenging to get sb wins along with the hype! I just wish the qb play was more realistic, and wr's could run across the field to get open unstead of just standing there waiting for your qb to get sacked and it would be more realistic if they qould scramble more if they have the ability.player aging start at 29 sucks. I wish you could call the plays, new rookies the the game generates could be better and the rising stars need to be more unique. Xp needs to be better.

Nope. Camera defaults to broadcast view and you can’t change it

That's unfortunate, I hate the broadcast view. Don't know why they don't let us set the game up then just movie he controller to the middle like it used to be. I also wish we could sim each game individually, rather than simming the whole week at once. I used to look at the games each week and sim them from the menu. We can force a win or loss, but can't just sim it, so stupid.

StormsWarning yes. When you're at the main screen of your franchise, press in on the right stick (R3), select 'Create a new character'. Choose the team who's game you want to watch, select their head coach. Now, you can do this two ways: If you're going to watch a lot of other games, repeat this for all 32 teams, going into league settings as you create each character, setting each of their transactions options to AUTO(or however much control you want over these teams). Then whenever you want to watch any of the 32 teams, just hit R3 again and select that team and start game. Or you can just do it on an individual basis, popping in and out to watch an occasional game. In this scenario, create your new character as in paragraph one for the team you want to watch. Watch the game, and when you're done and have exited the game, scroll to Options, select Retire, and Retire from the league. It won't actually retire the coach, you're just handing control of that coach back to the CPU. Any more questions, feel free to ask.

hey Ryan thank you man for suck a great in depth reply, that's rare to get these days man! yesterday i had did your option one going in the create character and setting them to auto, like you said, now i will try this again today because when i did it, i did show all 32 teams, but when i went to go onto the coach say for example panther's vs denver, it showed there game, but it was shaded out it wouldn't let me watch the game, now im not sure if it was because i had started my browns training and then tried to do it or not, and another thing i seen was at least on my end, when creating a new character, and when i went into my actually team, the bottom score ticker that scrolls teams instead of it saying the word (saints) next to them team it had my user name, and that was for all the 32 teams?

That I can't answer for sure, but I did some searching and found that many of the new features added to Franchise on the PS4 and XB1 were not added for the Last Gen games. I couldn't find anything specific on SuperSim so all I can do is guess that it's not.

Got it. Requires two controllers, though. When you go to play a game, take controller 1, and move it to the middle. Take controller 2 and move it to your team and start the game. Let the game load until you continue through the pre-game show. While the player intros are going, hit the Playstation button on Controller 2, select Power, and Log Out of PS4. The game will come back on in the Pause screen, just hit Circle with Controller 1 and it will ask you to reconnect Controller 2 or hit the Options button to continue. Hit the Options button on Controller 1, then press Circle again to exit the Pause menu and the game will play out in CPU vs. CPU and you'll earn all the virtual currency from the game.
