Madden 09 for the PS2 was great. It had historic teams, a funny training mode where you went up against sentient tacking dummies, and a mode where you had a budget and had to put together a team that had to beat random teams that got harder as you progressed in stadiums like a giant iceberg, underwater, and hell. Such a classic for me

RBT I know this video is old as hell lmao but IMO Madden 09 on the xbox/ps2 is my personal favorite. We still have all the luxuries that we do in the ps2 games (superstar, old franchise, create a team, skill drills, ect.) but we also have the introduction of Super Sim which is huge for lots of people, myself included. but Madden 04 is still goated, 100%.

PS2-era Madden games had exactly one stat that meant anything, which was speed for you RB, WR, and (in the case of Vick), your QB. His speed ranking and the ability to just scramble immediately with that kind of quickness completely broke the game. You could easily average 250 passing and 150 yards rushing with this guy on the hardest difficulty. The only thing that could trip you up if you were playing a season was there was a decent chance he would get hurt from taking the hit on 3 out of every 4 plays.

Another reason Falcons was broken this game was the running game. Warrick Dunn with the sweeps and tosses, but the key is to switch to T.J. Duckett and run the Strong I Half Back Blast. Duckett always broke the first or second tackle and was guaranteed yardage.
