The running is a bit more realistic in the next gen but it’s really not worth it, I’ve been playing madden 16 with roster updates and have been having a blast.

Played the ten hour trial on PS5 and already noticed the pre game warmups (what the players are doing on the field) is pretty much the same every game. The QB does that little ball toss animation with the shrugging shoulders every single time

I stopped buying them for that reason. Year after year of a half-assed product. The next gen actually looks like it’s trying to take a step forward. The movement is the standout. Cutting at top speed and then running with no momentum change is so unrealistic. Glad they looked to correct that.

Madden was a game that thrived on innovation and being cutting edge. Ever since 2k got washed out by the NFL solely dealing with EA, EA has slowly improved each year. Nothing like it use to. Maybe it’s the year to year deadlines to just cash grab or it’s too many bugs to fix on updates. Again something a team of coders would have to fix.

I think the biggest part people missed is the running. It's not just animation. This is only a guess but it's probably an entirely new set of run physics. That's why they went with the realistic foot plant, etc... Now here is the great part. Eventually, they will be able to put special x factors for players that seem to defy the typical run physics.

The series s isn’t the preferred but it’s basically the same besides it’s not 4000hd or whatever. Other than that it’s a really good console and just like these. It’s a good purchase if you can save for it.

Honestly, I understand most of the differences between current and next gen. Like gameplay animations, textures of the characters, weather, crowd. The changes I really do not get are the Super Bowl celebration, pre-game footage (like FIFA actually has this since like 05, normal pre-game footage) and also the momentum mechanic. How on earth would the momentum mechanic not be possible on current gen??? Also as a PC player I am annoyed in general that it doesn't have next gen version...
