@LooneyAlex They did. They have a whole new tackling system. There isn't suction anymore. Meaning there isnt people being sucked into tackles. Also when there are group tackles it actually effects the way the person gets tackled instead as if only one person was tackling them. Play the demo when it comes out on tuesday. You will quickly understand.

Say wat u want about any perceived improvements, the game is basically the same, it just feels like a slider adjustment was made. The cosmetic improvements r just that, cosmetic. This may b the best EA football game to date, but thats not saying much.

@BDMoB25 The commentary engine was ripped out this year and will be completely new in Madden 13. They are going to be using the same engine FIFA and NHL uses for their commentary from now on. Expect great commentary in Madden 13 with some improvements in Madden 12, mainly pregame, starting lineups, and DPP commentary.

@EASPORTS the falcons hardly ever run turner outside the tackles, and they don't run screens with him. they do curl check downs he more of the between the tackles boiling ball. he'll just bounce off 1 vs 1 no traffic tackles.

@jerGregory78 Exactly, this is due to the fact that some of the commentary was made with the new commentary engine that they invested in this year, but the play by play commentary is still from the old engine. The pregame, starting lineups, qbs taking the field, and DPP commentary was developed on the new engine and you can tell the difference. For Madden 13 the play by play and pronunciation of names will be redone completely so expect great commentary next year with some improvement in 12.

i really hope that madden adds the ability to save a game and then come back and play it later. I never have time to finish a full game in one play through and Im pretty sure past maddens have had this feature.

@cooldoode13 Exactly. I played the demo. Everything looks good, interceptions, fumbles, and tackles all happen at the right time. The intro is cool, and the announcer sounds very authentic. The only thing I don't like is the speed of the tackles. When you tackle someone, its like time speeds up. It looks good if you slow it down in replay mode, the animation is great, just way too fast.

@blkm383 They have the new commentary engine in place for Madden 13, they invested in it during development of Madden 12. You can hear some of the new commentary that was developed on the new engine in, same one FIFA uses, in Madden 12. Improved zone D, all 32 teams authentic intros, new franchise mode with over 25 new features, Dynamic Player Performance, hot & cold streaks, online communities, tv authentic replays and cameras, new stat overlays, there's a lot of new features this year. Madden is moving away from the annual "gimmick" feature from now on and is focusing on being a simulation football game.

@DENLITEN1 With that being said about the player to watch commentary being in the game, this isn't the final build so hopefully they fix the Falcons entrance location as it is the only one I have seen that was in the wrong location after watching at least 20 other teams entrances from Madden 12 videos. I tweeted one of the developers about the issue with Matt Ryan and Mike Smith being on the Eagles sideline and they said they would try to fix it. This is the only time I've seen this issue so far

@jpdavis82 nope - I am a season ticket holder in section 121 where the Falcons come out and we face the bird in the middle at the correct position (press box and stuff are on the Falcons sideline) - EA just got this wrong

Word I hear that its also one of the reasons I still play NFL 2K5 besides the fact that FIRST PERSON MODE is really fun man talk about being ahead of your time...NO wonder EA bought the NFL rights they were scare as hell when they saw how good of a game NFL 2K5 Was, and on top of that it was for 20 bucks while Madden was $50. NFL 2K5 was the best 20 bucks I ever spent for a sports game one in my opinion that will go down in video game history as a Classic.

They say that there is no more "speed bursts" or warping into people. But watch the play at 4:56 Jordan looks like he gets a little bit of a warp and speed burst to make the tackle a bit faster. Just saying, not hating.

@ZOMGitzaZombie They invested in a new commentary engine this year so look for the commentary to greatly improve in the next year and the future. They weren't able to fully implement the new engine this year but will have it for Madden 13. Just like they did with Presentation this year, built it last year, implemented it this year.

@reym613 the nfl put up the nfl license to the highest bidder...ea was not scared of competition. while yes the gameplay could use improvement still you need to realize that there are different groups of ea that work on presentation and gameplay and features...its not a lack of resources or human effort it is a lack of time (im not being an ea fanboy here...just a realist)

So I got this game today and I played a couple of exhibition matches but I realized that the presentation was way different than this video. It didn't show the cutscene of the QB coming on the field and his stats. And it didn't show a list of key offensive and defensive players (the bar that pops at the bottom). Does anybody know why?

@jjjwalker101 Madden 09 was the only version I found unique, it has stable frame rates even in cutscenes, madden weapons, etc. All of the newer maddens felt like a downgrade IMO.
