Hey Everyone, Just a heads-up to anyone wishing to do the engine detailing on their own vehicles… please take all precautions when it comes to the electrics! It is detriment that you remove your Battery, cover the Fuse and Relay Panels that are in the Bay, and make sure it is all completely dry before putting it back together to start the vehicle. Afterwards, let it stand outdoors on a dry day for 24 hours or blow the entire bay down with compressed air, then leave it to stand outside for 8 hours. If you have indoor space then make sure to heat it well with a safe Radiator that you can leave on overnight plugged into an Anti-Surge Adaptor as an extra precaution. Let it dry well after getting as much of the water out as you possibly can. Being a mechanic for over 15 years now, then I can confidently tell you that it is not worth just going crazy by spraying and jetting chemicals or water straight into the Bay. Stay Safe!… Stay Well!… Stay Positive! Stewart

@SCKB
@SCKB 2 жыл бұрын
@@missdrey954 ... You are very welcome and I hope this information has helped you. It is extremely important that if you do not have access to Compressed Air, try grabbing yourself an extremely powerful Leaf Blower, or anything like that which is able to blast as much water out as possible. If neither of those are available to you, then wipe down everything as much as you can with a good absorption towel before letting the vehicle stand in or around heat for a minimum of 24 Hours. It will be a minimum of 8 Hours if you have the possibility to blast the vehicle's bay. Time, Heat, Dry Environments, and Prepping are your best friends when it comes to Engine Detail. Reminder: Extract Battery First, Waterproof ALL Fuse & Relay Boxes by covering them up, make sure to plan a day or two for the vehicle to sit once detailing is complete, and it will be safe to put it all back together again. You may get some steam after starting the engine and letting it run up to temp, but it will be minimal and just that... Steam... so do not panic. As always to you and everyone here... Stay Safe!... Stay Well!... Stay Positive! Stewart

If you were a mechanic for 15 years like you claim, then you would know that it’s completely safe to spray water in your engine bay without covering anything as long as you blow the water out thoroughly enough afterwards . I'm basically obsessed with this channel at this point. I love how much care and effort are put into these cleans. Honestly every professional detailer should do what you do and how you do it. I'm so glad this channel exists. I do watch others: Geek, Ammo and Stauffer. But M.A.D is my top favorite. I really like Ammo as well. I love them all tbh. It's all very satisfying.

I also like Ammo because he seems honest. He doesn't even plug his own products in every video like some of them. I've only seen him recommend his products if they are for a very specific task. I think his wife is a chemist so she can mix the products to do exactly what he wants. But his car wash process is so deep that I try to use some of his techniques and they do work on almost any car.

As always, another fine transformation, Foster. If my poor seats had as much oil and crud on them as those did, I would have thought about replacing or reupholstering. Glad to see that you were able to salvage them. On a side note, I recently purchased the Leather Cleaner and the Leather Silk for the black/white seats in my show car. I haven't really cleaned them in the 3 1/2 years since I had them reupholstered. They weren't that dirty, I use great care in the upkeep. Had a big car show coming up, and I used the cleaner for the seats then followed up with the Leather Silk. OMG that stuff is AMAZING! My seats look better than when they were new. I put two coats of Silk on and worked it in. There was just enough shine to make them look new and it really refreshed them. And the leather smell is great. Wife is an equestrian rider/trainer and she used both the cleaner and the Silk on some old leather halters and show bridles that were several years old. It made those look like brand new. These products are great and I would urge anyone with leather seats to give it a try. You won't be sorry. Got to try out the APC next.

Do you have to be careful with an alternator when detailing engines? Some people say you will screw-up alternators if water gets into them. Don't they get a little wet under the hood anyway when it's raining heavily and driving at faster speeds?
@Blakecryderman7244
@Blakecryderman7244 2 жыл бұрын
@4GuitarTrance you are correct, however, people on this channel won't listen to use honest people (me & you) on this engine electronics topic, because they are just obsessed with being able to eat dinner on engines & not give a sh*t on what electrical problems occur in the next couple of years from pressure washing all the components. You are correct, it will absolutely damage it overtime. The worst ugliest truth behind all of this, that otherwise reliable long lasting corolla actually got it's lifespan shortened by foster pressure washing under the hood. It's high pressure water into all of the electrical components. Just like a flooded car, it will take years for the damage to occur

@Jonathan Ratliff not everybody has time to gut a car interior. In the detail geek's case. that's like pulling an engine out of a car when you're only doing basic maintenance, it just doesn't make sense. The guys on this channel are super hard on the detail geek, & they think that he can gut a car interior every time. Folks, that is not realistic for everybody... That's just the truth. He has kids to take care of, he can't spend days gutting a car interior. my main point is, don't give another detailer a hard time, because you never know what else they've got going on in their life. I truthfully don't understand how foster can stay up for 40 hours cleaning a car nonstop with no sleep. Must have lots of energy drinks to keep himself up & running. The detail geek doesn't want to do that, because guess what, he also has a whole family to attend to! As some of Fosters subscribers get older, they will finally understand reality of working too hard. It's about healthy decisions everybody!

For the last five plus years everybody who has a detail channel has been using foam applicators on the exterior. For the last 6 months or so I noticing everyone's going back to using the wool applicator. Some are using it for the whole job others are doing it like you are. You start off using wool and at the end you switch back to the foam. Back when I was a young man and cleaning up my cars the only thing we used was wool and terry cloth. Is there some reason for going back to the old way?

It’s just a water based dressing that you spray on and let dry.

Excellent and thorough cleaning job! Well done! Quick question though, what is the name of the instrumental music playing during the last 3 minutes (it may be throughout the whole video)?

I've never seen that many paint chips on a hood before, especially on a newer car. Does he follow around gravel trucks all day?
