@@warrengdrum1 From the Wikipedia page on Lloyd Loar: "In 2007, mandolinist Chris Thile acquired a 1924 Loar-signed F5 serial # 75316[15] that was an exceedingly rare find, as it was in virtually new condition. It reportedly cost him around $200,000." From my limited understanding, A Loar Mandolin is essentially the same as a Stradivarius Violin.

@@xXAjaxXx Most of Colbert's musical clips don't stay up for very long, for instance the Kendrick Lamar performance from Colbert's first episode was amazing as well, and it got taken down within a couple of months. I believe the old episode's musical content would be limited under contract by CBS. The "full" version of Colbert episodes ought to include Stay Human's incredible performances, as a Classical pianist I hear ending tidbits of jazz versions of Debussy and Chopin and Bach by the band, no doubt from Jon Batiste's classical training influence.

Chris Thile never fails to deliver the goods. I've seen him a half dozen times with Nickel Creek and Punch Brothers, not to mention the Live from Here radio show band. He always brings the virtuosity and the humor. Moreover, TLS band did a damn fine job of accompanying Chris and working with him to produce a new and very different arrangement of what was originally written as a romantic bluegrass-style acoustic tune. Special props to Maddie Rice for background vocals and guitar. This beautiful young woman always looks like she's having a terrible day, but still manages to hold her own with an incredible house band.

We were working in China when the pandemic began. We left for Vietnam, had to leave after the 30-day visa expired, ended up spending almost 9 months in Cambodia, and were then officially transferred to Vietnam. After 10 months of living out of suitcases that we had packed for two weeks (not sure how we came up with that time frame for COVID to blow over 😆), we had a beautiful house in Vietnam, and I was putting our clothes in CLOSETS and DRAWERS! It felt beautifully strange…and our then 9, 7, and 5 year-old babies played this song on repeat while I unpacked. ❤️
