Katie2595 Forcing a child to go against her parents and friends, segregating a child from her peer (the blatant favoritism, telling the other girls how Maddie will always be better than them), punishing them over situations they have no control over (When Abby yelled at Maddie about Melissa walking out with the other moms in season 3) is emotional abuse. Abby was extremely manipulative when it came to Maddie.

Abby and Maddie's relationship was not a healthy one and I'm surprised people pretend like it was. She constantly tried to turn Maddie against her friends and even her own mom as a young child. Tried to make Maddie believe she was the only person who cared about her well being. Abby kept trying to use Maddie even after she left the show. The Zieglers are not on good terms with Abby at the moment so I don't blame them for keeping their distance.

We don't know the full extent of Maddie & Abby's relationship, so we cant say if maddie is being ungrateful or dissing her?? Abby is someone who's thrown Maddie's personal family issues into everyone's faces (Melissa's new boyfriend, etc) and you can see how much that hurt her. Yes she trained Maddie but this kid was also under an extreme amount of pressure because if she ever did wrong, she had the moms & social media & abby picking her apart. Just let her move on, she respectfully said she learnt a lot from there but she's obviously a whole lot happier now.

What y'all need to understand is that just because Abby "made" Maddie, it doesn't erase the fact that that women is extremely toxic to those children. All of them, including Maddie. Maddie didn't even sign up for this, she was 8. Her mom made the decision to put her in the spotlight, and an 8 year old child shouldn't have to decide whether to stay in a toxic environment (that, on top of all, is televised) or whether to go against her mom's and teacher's wishes and leave. Abby was ruining Maddie, she was teaching her to be arrogant and selfish, she was constantly telling her that she had to win, and like Maddie said, an eleven year old just shouldn't have to worry so much. So yeah, Abby did promote her a lot and helped her get where she is now and Maddie knows it. But Abby also stressed her out, put her in very difficult situations, and drilled her to be cocky and insufferable. I think that Maddie can see now what a horrible influence Abby had on her and the other girls and I don't see why she should appreciate that. Sia also was a turning point for Maddie, because she went from having a mentor that was negative, stressful and crooked to a mentor that is positive, uplifting, wise and fun. Sia made Maddie realize that life should be simpler at this age, and art should be FUN, not ARROGANT. So no, Maddie doesn't owe Abby ANYTHING. On the contrary, if I was her I would diss her even more so that people see that even those who seem to favoured, are still affected by negative behavior and toxicity. Just in different ways than those who are "abused". (Chloe that is) Edit: WOW I really didn't expect this comment to get so many likes, I was clearly very passionate about the subject when I posted it lol I am so glad that so many people get the point and can see how toxic their relationship actually was.

But she didn't say anything bad about Abby. She said competing was stressful and she's happy to not have to live through that. Even on the show you could see Maddie didn't like always feeling like her friends were being put down. As she got older you could tell she was really uncomfortable with it all and it was her decision to no longer compete. I don't think she was bashing Abby just the whole world of competition stressed her.

Every single one of those girls has been so much happier once they left. Maddie has been taught she doesn't have to be perfect, Sia and the Choreographers threat Maddie like a person, they don't shout or threaten her. The moment Maddie began working with Sia, Abby lost her. And Sia has taught her to relax and is maybe the mother figure she needs, who doesn't push her and allows her to be herself. Mackenize isn't being shouted at and told she is failing because she isn't Maddie and Abby has no control over her music anymore. Brooke and Paige are both much happier, Brooke is happy at Uni and Paige has grown into a beautiful woman. Chloe has blossomed and became confident and her return to Dance Moms was like a jailer releasing captives, because everyone knew it was checkmate by Lifetime, with Abby. Abby's irrational hatred of Chloe and Christi was her lowest point.

I'm surprised at the negative comments directed towards Maddie in favor of Abby. Abby creates toxic environments for all of her dancers. She was so manipulative concerning Maddie. Remember how she treated her after all the moms walked out and supported Kelly? Or when she forgot her solo? Or when she left the show? Not to mention all the moments in between and how to tried to pit the girls against one another. Just because she wasn't always yelling at her doesn't mean she wasn't emotionally abusive. Maddie had so much pressure put on her by Abby always expecting perfection and absolute loyalty from her; it strained her relationships with her friends and even led to bullying by some of the other moms. Abby did not make Maddie--she would have succeeded no matter who she took dance classes from. Maddie was a huge reason Abby's studio was picked for Dance Moms. I'm so glad she's in a better place emotionally. She's matured so much, as a dancer and a person, and I wish her all the best.

You can see all the times Maddie and Abby talk that it's just Maddie going "yes, yes, yes" and she was pushed to the brink for Abby to see the results she wanted. I'm soooo happy Sia picked her up when she did and let her grow into an even more beautiful dancer and person! Sia is a great rolemodel, unlike Abby.

Annelise Olivares ok and she taught the original six everything they know as well. Does that give her the right to treat students any kind of way? The only thing you know about these girls is what you see on a highly edited reailty tv show. You have no idea what really happens behind the scenes. People have no right to try and tell her how to feel. The Zieglers are no longer in contact with abby and she did thank abby and the show for all they have done. Should the Hyland and Chloe shut up about Abby too because she taught them everything they know?Sick of the double standards.

People are honestly overreacting. Maddie never dissed or insulted abby in any way in this interview. She only stated how being in competitions caused alt of stress for her because she was always expected to win first. that became her mindset (to constantly have to win) and in turn put alot of stress on her if she didn't. so i don't know why people are jumping to conclusions about abby. I have the book and she does thank Abby in it so everyone stop saying "she should have been grateful and mentioned them etc."

I think it's so funny how all of you are so desperate to hate on a 14-year old and how the show brainwashed you all. You're falling for the "truth" a reality TV show tells you, how sad is that?! First of all, she never said anything bad about Abby, she thanked her numerous times and was really gracious about it. Also Dance Moms is not "Abby's show" like some of you claim it to be. The girls got cast before Abby did, Abby even said she wasn't supposed to be on the show. Abby didn't "make" the girls, this is so stupid, just stop. That's what Abby has been saying for years and you guys all go and believe it? Are you really that stupid? Or maybe you are not, but it's an easy excuse to hate on Maddie so you take it. The girls trained their butts off for years, that was their work, not Abby's! Abby wasn't even that much at the studio before the show started, other teachers were as was said in many interviews! So like "all this training", they mainly got from other teachers and by working hard every single day. The show made Abby famous as much as it made all the girls famous. Abby didn't produce the show, so like, how did she make those girls famous?? Also the girls weren't cast because they were such good dancers, Abby's studio is pretty shit in comparison to many others and the girls were not the best dancers. Good dancers, but certainly not the best. The show made them all famous and to give Abby credit is just dumb, for what?? The show was not about the girl's dancing skills, but about the drama. And then Maddie met Sia and got way more famous and grew too big for the show. Honestly, it surprises me they stayed this long. Abby abused all of the girls, in different ways. You guys say it's no big thing to be praised and make fun of that and say how is that abusive? I'm telling you, it's sick! Not only did Abby constantly tell Maddie no one would be happy for her and everyone hates her, she tried to destroy her friendships, told her she wasn't worth anything when she loses etc. Do you know how sick that is? To be told you are only worth loving if you win all the time? This is not fun! And Abby kept doing this all the time, it was stressful, hell, stressful is a nice word to describe this situation. Also Abby always clung to Maddie once Maddie got really successful. She keeps trying to take all the credit, she talked about some of Maddie's projects before they got publicly announced which can be really detremental to her career and she insulted Maddie's teeth on national television. Also after they quit the show, they still danced at the ALDCLA for some time and seemed to be on good terms with Abby and then suddenly they weren't. A bit suspicious, don't you think? Something must have happened for them to cut ties. Abby probably did something mean or who knows what and they finally decided to get away from her. And now you're here hating on her? For what? She didn't even say something mean (which if you ask me she would have every right to do so), she thanked her and just said the show was stressful. All the girls can talk like this, but Maddie not? You're all such hypocrits. Also it's sad how the storyline of the show messes with your minds, I would have thought people are smarter than this. You know how reality TV works? They assign you roles. That's the way they portray and edit you. So Maddie was the "mean girl", the "golden girl" etc and that's what you got to see. Chloe was the "underdog", Kenzie was "just Maddie's little sister" and so on. If you know a bit about reality tv and how it's produced you'd see through this shit at once, but sadly people would rather hate on a 14-year old for like, being happy to be off the show? For not being stressed anymore? Tell me exactly what is bad about that? Why don't you allow her to be happy? If she was stressed she had every right in the world to leave and she has every right to tell the truth and say she was stressed and not lie to you. But sure, go ahead and hate on her, that's all you wanted to do anyway, no matter what she would have said.

I'm amazed at how many people confuse Abby and the show Dance Mom's with who helped the girls become household names. Also I don't hear any "dissing" that some of you think she is doing. it's a short 2.37 clip of an interview not a lot of time to really talk about anything.

I'm glad she is speaking out and that she is putting distance between herself and Abby. Abby takes way too much credit to begin with and her methods are disgraceful. To her it's "Abby Lee Miller Dancer Maddie", but in reality its "Dancer Maddie, who danced with Abby Lee Miller" That's the order of importance! Maddie (and Chloe, Nia, Kalani and all the others for that matter) are the stars , not Abby. Maddie was the favourite but Abby made her do a lot of things she wasn't comfortable with and stressed her out, to me it was always obvious that they didn't have a good relationship but a relationship where Maddie was affraid to "stand up to her" or speak against her, say no, or tell her she isn't okay with whats going on. To Abby the relationship was great, because she was always having her way and didn't see the damage she is doing while, undeniably training them to become beautiful dancers. Other than that Maddie had to see Abby treat her friends poorly, deal with all her moodswings, massive ego and twisted view on the world. She regonizes it for what it was "the craziest time of her life, with fun moments". She moved on to better things, same with Chloe, they both moved on to better things and are doing amazing, which i'm very happy about and i can't wait to see what they will do in the future. Hope the same happens for the other girls too :)

Honestly, I am so happy for Maddie leaving! She seemed stressed all the time and she had to keep winning for Abbey. Yes, Sia did reach out to her because of Dance Moms, but either way, I think she would have been famous with or without it. Maddie is doing a lot better and you can see it on her face! She said it was such a great learning experience but it was stressful at the same time bc she was only 11 and that's not being rude in anyway. She said that it's a different part of her life. No one here knows what it's like being on a reality tv show when they r 11, so shut the freak up. She said nothing rude and u guys r just being annoying and I bet all the people here are like anti Madrid haters.

Everyone loves to hate on Maddie but she did have an enormous amount of pressure on her, as did all the girls, but Maddie was expected to always be perfect. And she put in a lot more hours than the other girls. Oh yeah, the other moms constantly attacked her and Melissa, so I can understand why she is glad that it's over. Not to mention all the online bullying...okay I am done now.

I really don't understand why everyone says she is extremely ungrateful. Like she said that she was stressed out because of competitive dance and the drama around winning every competition that the show created. She says nothing directly against Abby, she knows that she has learned a lot because of her and she says she stays in touch with her teammates. I mean, she is 14 and so careful not to say anything offensive, it's crazy. And after all, it's a show created for dramatic moments she grew up in... who would be grateful for giving up a normal childhood to dance this competitively (and with no perspective to go to a "real" dance school afterwards)? I see that she got a lot of opportunities because of Dance Moms afterwards, but she often said in interviews and on instagram how grateful she is for those. So I don't really see the problem some people are having.

Just because she wouldn't be famous without dance moms or she was Abby's "favorite" doesn't mean that she can't say that it wasn't a nice walk in the park to be put under that much pressure at such a young age. Being in dance moms wasn't emotionally healthy for any of those girls. a normal mom would never allow her daughter near Abby lee miller.

Okay anyone saying maddie is dissing Abby needs to wake up, she never dissed Abby. I don't understand why maddie gets so much hate when the other girls have said things one thousand times worse! When Chloe did the same everyone was commending her for finally breaking away and doing her own thing! Anyone who thinks maddie and Abby's relationship was healthy is ridiculous, Abby got in maddies head and put so much pressure on her turning her against her friends, and no child should have to deal with that
@sierratacos11
@sierratacos11 8 жыл бұрын
I guess it's also annoying that people keep saying she dissed Abby because if Chloe was to make these exact same comments everyone would praise her and even encourage the dissing. Which is funny and ironic cause Abby and Lifetime are both the reason for Maddies AND Chloe's success. I know TONS of dancers with TEN TIMES the amount of talent Maddie or Chloe possess but aren't booking movies or Sia Tours simply because they weren't on a reality TV show with the exposure that causes...

Definitely. Christi made it seem that wanting to be good at dance and never getting on Abby's bad side was a bad thing. I heard she even made attendees aka her daughter's fans made fun of Maddie at their earlier M&Gs after they left the show. She was the main mother that bullied Maddie and Melissa and people have the nerves to come at Maddie for saying she was stressed. Imagine having the moms and other kids hating on you and your mom(Maddie) vs just one person hating on you(Chloe). Maddie never even tried to get pity ever. Most of those arguments With Christi and Abby could have been avoided. Abby kept telling Christi and Chloe that it's hard getting to the top but it's even harder staying on top and it is true.

Where did Maddie diss Abby?, because I sure don't see/hear any dissing. Majority of these Dance Moms fans LOVE to hate on a 14 year old kid. They will always twist her words around just find a loophole to satisfy their desire for hating on her. Just so you guys know, Maddie Ziegler do not care. She has been hated on since the beginning of the show ( Dance Moms) and no matter what she's stills stand tall and is doing amazing things. She's busy being PRODUCTIVE something the cyber bullies can't/won't do. Leave this talented, beautiful, smart and passionate 14 year old alone and focus on YOUR LIFE. Matter of fact, Abby Lee Miller just commented on Melissa's ( Maddie's mother) instagram. So keep thinking the Ziegler hate Abby or Abby hates the Zieglers.

I'm sure Maddie is grateful for Abby in so many ways only that she just doesn't say it. It is just that now, she has moved on from it aka Abby and the show and that doesn't mean she is ungrateful or a brat or anything. I don't see how she was dissing Abby? And she was also stressed out at such a young age which isn't healthy so that's why she moved on because there was too much pressure. So i guess all of you would rather have her stressed out than happy? Plus, we don't have to show our gratitude on screen all the time like it doesn't proof our sincerity at all like what's the point of saying good things about them when you're not even sincere. Well all im saying is that i just wish all you Maddie haters would just stop trying to pick on her over the little things she do that probably doesn't affect you at all and leave hers and Abby relationship alone :) Honestly, even if she was "dissing" Abby which she isn't, why does it matter? Yeah Abby made her career but if it also wasn't for her own hard work and dedication, all this wouldn't happen to. And I bet if this was any of the other girls "dissing" Abby, it would all be alright but of course it's Maddie, obviously she's gonna get hated on because she's a "brat" or whatever. Maddie knows that Dance Moms had made her famous but it does not erase the fact that the children in the show were mentally abused and pressurized to do well. They had lost such a huge part of their childhood trying to do well in that competition. The show was toxic for the girls. The girls used to feel that no one would love them if they didn't dance well. It was a huge pressure on them. Childhood was not carefree for these girls. The time in their life when they should have played around was burdensome for them. I feel that it was not just Abby 's fault. It was also the mothers who were so ambitious to see their girls win that they started to bully the other girls in the show to feel better about their own daughters.

does Abby know how to shape and bring out the best in a dancers natural talent? YES! does she favor certain dancers that will make her successful? Yes! does she break a lot of dancer' s heart when she doesn't feel they have what is needed to advance her success, yep! I've teared up watching her shatter their dream with her feedback. star quality is different than pure technique. While Abby could invest in many talented kids and do wonderful things with them, she has decided to only take interest in the ones that are going to lead to fame. It's not my business if that is how she chooses to use her gift of teaching and understanding dance. She loves fame more than dance though. I'll be honest, I LOVE to watch Maddie dance. It's like listening to Janis Joplin, sia, stevie nicks sing- they aren't technically the best singers but the way they can transcend such an emotional experience through their performances is an art all it's own. like a Marilyn Monroe, some people just have this star quality about them. It can't be taught. Maddie, however shouldn't resent her time with Abby. It was a symbiotic relationship. they both wanted fame from their relationship and it worked. I'm not saying it was healthy but I believe they achieved what they set out for. Maddie was treated better than others, being favored as she was, so it is odd of her to feel resentful. all that glitters isn't gold and there is a high price to fame. isn't it strange how the most famous people have the saddest bios? fame doesn't equall happiness. money doesn't either. It all feels like a high at first I'm sure but there are really twisted and dark things in the industry. I believe if you use your God given talents for nothing but good, PURE JOY will come from it. when you use those gifts selfishly and for worldly, not spiritual gain, it steals the joy little by little. Whitney Houston had the most beautiful anointed voice. I really hate that her story ended like it did. I always sensed that she was very spiritual and had a very strong faith in God but being a celebrity leaves you so susceptible to the evil the industry is. Sometimes the closer you are to God, the enemy attacks more. when I was younger I wished I was actress and famous but wow! how that is so far from what I want now. Hollywood would have had a wonderful time destroying me as sensitive as I am. I thank God for actually taking me through the hardest of times, stripping my life down and leaving me humble. anyway, neither Abby nor Maddie should resent the other. they both got wa t they wanted no matter the journey there. any sadness they feel isn't due to the other- it's probably that fame isn't all they thought it would be and its easier to blame the other instead of consider that maybe they just made a mistake personally by becoming slaves to the industry. I could be completely wrong. just an opinion. I think they both are truly gifted and hope from here on out they choose the path that brings the most joy to their life.

Dance Moms cost Maddie a lot. One of the biggest being her duet partner, and I’m not talking about Kendall. When Chloe and Maddie danced together, it was like nothing else mattered. I have yet to see two other girls who can do what they could. Their duets could move mountains. Abby ruined all of that for Maddie. She turned her against the rest of the girls, ultimately turning the moms against her. Maddie lost three original studio members over her six seasons. She didn’t get it then. I’m sure she gets it now.

abby treated maddie terribly, it was mentally abusive. she would tell maddie lies about her friends and tried to turn her against her friends which Abby sadly succeeded at with Chloe and Maddie's friendship. She tried to convince Maddie she winning was the only thing in life. She would make Maddie look bad on national television. She constantly put the poor girl in an awkward position, by continually praising her in front of everyone and continually screaming and being extremely verbally abusive to the other girls. She stressed the girl out at such a young age, when at that age she should be free and happy, but instead was stressed and anxious. Maddie is not on good terms with Abby, neither is her sister Mackenzie and I'm glad of that.
