Deep abiding gratitude that these musicians grace our lives. Makes so much bearable that would otherwise not be so. Namaste.

The boar's head in hand bear I, Bedecked with bay and rosemary; And I pray you my masters be merry, Quot estis in convivio (as many as are at the feast) Refrain Caput apri defero,( I bring in the boar's head, giving thanks to the Lord) Reddens laudes Domino. (repeat) The boar's head as I understand, Is the bravest dish in all the land When thus bedecked with a gay garland; Let us servire cantico (serve it with a song) Our steward hath provided this In honour of the King of Bliss, Which on this day to be serv`ed is In Reginensi Atrio (in Queen's Hall).

The wild boar became extinct in the UK in the 13th century. It was later reintroduced and became extinct again the 17th century. The song refers to the boars head as the "rarest dish" which indicates that the song was written in the 17th century or before.

Medieval Latin is not the same as classical Latin and the pronunciation is more variable. Chill (if you haven't already, I know this is a very late comment)

she has a nice voice but she is butchering the latin...

There are different schools of thought on pronouncing Latin. Just relax and enjoy. I am talking to myself, too - I've had to relax my standards on Latin pronunciation to enjoy this.

@@pamelawisebronson3511 sorry but if i didnt know the lyrics id never even guess she was trying to sing latin its that bad.
@geoffh65174 жыл бұрын
@@rexcaliburn we have no idea how Latin was pronounced since it's a dead language... the way scholars pronounce it is certainly nothing like current Italian
