Usain Bolt broke the world record in the 100m dash with a time of 9.58 seconds in Berlin in 2009. Maddy is my 2 yo lab mix mutt rescue dog from Louisiana. She is very fast. Is she as fast as the fastest man on earth???

I had students who were 10 second flat 100 meter runners as D1 college athletes. One saw me on campus with my Siberian husky and bet he could catch her and tag her tail while running. Bless his heart for trying. Even Bolt couldn't have caught a sled dog at full speed if he'd tried.

The main part of this to remember is that this dog could easily catch up to anyone if she wanted to, because if a dog is serious or specifically, running more than 100m, then you'll definitely be caught

Maddy isn't even trying to sprint her hardest though lol. If she knew what was happening, she may have gone faster. Plus, the reaction time of 2 men on top and it's definitely under 10.

I retimed the run off of the video with a handheld old fashioned stop watch. I consistently got 9.6 seconds. So Maddy was almost exactly as fast as Usain Bolt. When I did the original timing on the video I was using a somewhat unresponsive smart phone touch screen that gave an inaccurate measure.
