Wow thank you for sharing your reaction to this great song of tribute! You couldn’t have said it better when you said “don’t live with survivors guilt, and don’t waste that survival. So many didn’t make it home, but those of us that did come home will never forget the sacrifice of our fallen Brothers and sisters in Arms. This version of this song from these brilliant singers is beyond beautiful and chills me to the core; as it’s hauntingly sad but beautiful at the same time. Maddy, thank you for caring about those who served but especially for honoring those that didn’t make it home. You have a beautiful soul and are a beautiful lady. It often tears at many of our hearts that did come home, as we have dealt with survivors guilt at times, I have really tried not to waste it as you said and that’s a very valid point. I love life, and as a musician, singer and a person of Faith, I appreciate the beauty of this version of “Go Rest High” and your beautiful soul for feeling exactly what I feel every time I hear it. This is a tough one to sing and play without falling apart. I love your reaction and your appreciation. Thank you!

Hi Maddy, No problem that you cried. I'm a guy and I started crying way before you did. It was a very touching, fragile and beautiful video, and it was hard to make it through it without welling up. The artist/musician temperament in some of us can also help fuel the emotions. Thank you so much for your sensitive and meaningful reactions, Neal

Hi Maddy. The song was written by Country singer Vince Gill. He started it years ago when his dear friend and fellow singer/songwriter Keith Whitley died, but he couldn't find a way to finish it. Several years later Vince's brother died and he decided to try again, and managed to finish this beautiful tribute for him. Let those tears out when the spirit hits you Hon. I am a grown man and I cry over many things. Not because they're sad. but because they stir the emotions in us. Your reactions are a joy to watch Maddy. Stay safe and well and adorable!!

I am a firm believer that we should allow our emotions to get to the point of shedding a tear sometimes. It is the compassion, the emotions, the remembering, the thinking, the wishing and many other things that make us better human beings. But it must be a result of something powerful.

NO shame in emotions, and showing them! I'm a 50% disabled retired vet. These type videos are hard to watch, but necessary. We must all remember the sacrifice that so many made. I lost an Uncle in Vietnam. My father was a Marine. Lost an eye. Nothing is easy about war, and especially losing a loved one. Tough guys, and tough women, don't cry, right? Nope! The best of the best cry or show emotion, bc they FEEL it! Kudos to you!

It's alright to shed tears for those who never made it back to the world (USA) Ms. Maddy. We wrote the country and all the citizens within it a blank check for our lives if it were God's will that we give it for what we love and defend it's democracy. Many of us would do it again willingly.
