Love Kenny Rogers music from when he was with the First Edition (60's-70's) to his solo career. He was a great story teller in many of his songs like "Coward Of The County" & "The Gambler". He had so many hits "Lucille", "Lady", "Through the Years" etc. He did a lot of duets such as with Kim Carnes "Don't Fall In Love With A Dreamer", with Sheena Easton "We've Got Tonight" & with Dolly Parton "Islands In The Stream". He also did quite a few duets with Dottie West.

If you're not familiar with Lionel Ritchie, he and Kenny were good friends. Lionel wrote this song and wanted his band, The Commodores to perform it. They rejected it and Lionel gave the song to Kenny. Note: There is a video of Kenny and Lionel singing this song together years later. Not only was Lady a huge hit for Kenny Rogers, but it increased interest in Lionel Ritchie, who went on to have a long and successful solo career. You should check him out. The majority of Lionel's hits were love songs. I consider him to be one of the best songwriters of my time.

Whenever I hear Kenny Rogers I think of Dolly Parton too. Both are great, talented country singers and have performed together. If you haven’t heard Dolly Parton, she has written 100’s of popular songs including I Will Always Love You, Jolene, and my favorite, Coat of Many Colors. She is a genuinely nice person too

This was written by Lionel Ritchie of the Commodores who also sang Lady (You Bring Me Up). Not to be confused with Lady by Styx or Lady by Little River Band. All chart toppers all very different songs, you should react to all of them.

This is really one of his greatest songs but my favorite Kenny Rogers video will always be The Gambler when he sang it on the Muppets Show. It's one of the most beautifully done versions of that song I've ever seen. I think you would enjoy it.

If you would want to see a different side of Kenny you should check out his early stuff - back when he was part of a rock band known as Kenny Rogers and The First Edition. I would suggest either of the following two songs - "I Just Dropped In To See What Condition My Condition Was In," or "Something's Burning." I would not suggest "United We Stand" due to the lead is sang by two other members of the band. His early stuff will also show you some of his guitar playing skills.
