My uncle was a life long meth addict and he looked and acted the EXACT same way, also those tools were VERY expensive, especially that snap on gauge and he took almost no money for all of it together which means he’s desperate for meth.

I think you’re just fine. I usually imagine that people who misspell a word or two don’t use English as their first language. My guy is a terrible speller but it’s endearing. 🧐 Too bad the glass on top of the “new” display cases isn’t being protected. It’d be easy to have a towel or piece of fabric for folks to place their items onto and avoid hitting it with a knife while cutting open boxes. I imagine they’ll end up all scratched and scuffed like the old ones. The value of that old, heavy, beveled glass is $$$ not to mention it’s esthetic value... oh well. 🙁

Someone should gift them something to put down. Or I guess they could get some. We have glass countertops at my job and often sit merchandise on it to show a customer. We have thin slip resistant foams mats to use when showing an item. They came in some packages we got instead of bubble wrap, so he could possibly even find the stuff in a dumpster. We also have mousepads sitting around for small items.

And I, as someone with no consequence in the matter would never judge anyone, least of all Pete et al., for carrying out business differently than I! But, isn’t it a bit ironic for someone who fully understands how condition and esthetics affects the value and enjoyment of items, and who has make the effort to get so many things back into working order, to not prevent excessive damage to a beautiful display case? I’m one who likes old beat up stuff with character and patina but when it comes to glass, especially glass that would be exorbitantly expensive if even possible to replace, well... not so much. So yeah I cringe when I see it might be getting beat up but like so many other things that annoy me I’ll get used to it. ☮️

I agree with you! I used to work in bullet and bomb resistant glasses.. but we also had a division for protective films. Ina residential setting people had clear or tinted film installed on their windows to prevent intruders. People on golf courses used it to prevent golf balls from flying thru their windows. But it also protects surfaces. It’s not expensive and can be changed out as needed. Similar to car window tints .. but thicker. I think that’s what the counter glass needs bc it’s invisible and durable.
