This is amazing! I was thinking of making one for awhile, but I'm not very good at blender or coding. I've always wanted to make a game like this one with other Mario characters with their modern renders, like Luigi, Peach, Daisy, DK, Toad, Waluigi, Pauline, and Rosalina

Just gotta jump in and start learning! Most game engines nowadays can handle most of the hard work for you. Plus i'm sure you could find/rip models of the characters you want to use this on. Either way, good luck on your coding adventures if you go that route!

I really do appreciate the comment! And if you see anything that I could improve on with editing or flow of the video, I could use the feedback!

Thanks! Didn't even know yt was still pushing this video out to people still. Lol

Super cool! No idea what "feels like picking up a cup" means. If I had one little constructive thing is that there should be a max stretch, and there should be "resistance" as you stretch to the max. I'm not sure if this is open source but I'd love to scope out the scripts if it is :)

Thanks, and this was just a weekend project i did quite awhile ago lol i don't have the project file anymore, but i explained pretty much how i handled everything in the video
@LeRinse Жыл бұрын
Love this, do you have a github repo for it? Would be great if you did a video with more in depth on the code and what had to be done in blender to get it to work. Would like to make something similar. All the best.

kinda interested in this as well!

I wish i still had the file, but since this was a weekend project, it got the boot from my hardrive lol but the trouble areas i ran into were shown a bit in the video

it feels like picking up a cup, not like stretching a body part like the original.
@SethFunk Жыл бұрын
Not quite sure what you mean by that. But it's definitely not a 1 to 1 recreation. Just something i threw together in a couple days. You can stretch the body parts by left mouse clicking and dragging though
@Lou-yf1jo Жыл бұрын
@@SethFunk in the original when you try to move a body part it actually felt like a body part was being stretched. But the movement is instant in this recreation it doesn't feel right.

this is relly good but there is no turn feature, otherwise really good
@SethFunk2 жыл бұрын
I understand your disappointment about the no turning feature lol I attempted to add this but I could not get the deformations to stick while rotating the head properly. If I was to redo it, I would add it, but that was a fun project to get use to how to convert a skeleton rig from Blender to Unity and get it all to work!

Is this possible in Unreal?
@SethFunk3 ай бұрын
This was done in unity. Should be fairly doable in unreal though

@@SethFunk Thanks, i still haven't figured out how to manipulate the rigging point during runtime... probably quite simple. have a nice time 😁

@@TheAiConqueror if the object you are working on has a skeleton/rig, the bones should be part of the hierarchy of the model. Should be able to reference the bones directly or use animation
