@@HydroXD_ yes it was, unfortunately. They’re pressuring him pretty aggressively to complete chapters, with how successful the second season was & how much merch has been moving. Apparently, the story is only a little more than halfway done, like 56-58%. According the him, the end of Iruburu arc was the midway point of the tale. He wants it to reach 100 chapters. So hopefully his body & mind can withstand everything. He’s already in poor health.

Nice! So awesome love when you post, you have great insight to structure and themes and all that analysis. I really do think Srajo knows alot more than shes telling anybody figuring Ozen knows what she does and doesnt tell Jirou any bombshells until its like "oh yeah hey. Just had a thought" lol. I think all of, or a specific person, in Hello Abyss Squad are crucial to the rest of the Collection them and the Twins and i think Srajo knows and thinks Rikos hiding vital info. Awesome analysis once again. Thank you for the time and energy!

thank you! and yeah definitely, the white whistles are notoriously awful at divulging anything for their own weird reasons, and Srajo is definitely keeping to her secretive namesake

so in terms of the gronze hymn, i feel like its in reference to the cursed orthian and/or the sherumena twins. the leading connection from ozen to sherumena to reborn souls all makes me think that the golden flake is the falling ticket in the funeral, as seen in sherumi last arc. the twins were allowed to die, returning their souls (twins (very valuable)) to the bottom of the abyss. i believe sherumena is the red star they were talking about. obviously this was written in hariyomari many years ago, however ozen seems to know a lot about the subject. maybe its her job to sacrifice them each 30 years. its all conditional spawning from a flimsy singularity but its the most sense i could make of it
@pootispaghetti Жыл бұрын
ahhh yeah that makes a ton of sense, like for some reason the twins are in a constant loop of rebirth. it could also be that they act as a catalyst for the 2000 year breath, possibly. hmmm
@CompadeGD Жыл бұрын
@@pootispaghetti yeah i really wonder what their place in the y2k cycle is. them being a catalyst is really interesting
@CrashBandicootFan100 Жыл бұрын
Part of me thinks the "leftover" IS one of the previous iterations of the twins. The curse leaking in there- likely connected to them and whatever their body goes through might effect the twins. Hence why they all have missing limbs. Interestingly they're reffered to as Sherumena a lot. Sure like a shipping naming convention- because of whatever reason there needs to be twins reincarnated, despite one still being alive, Sherumena are only ONE of the souls split into two people. Also could be why they're Juuso instead of - regular humans (which I assume is what they usually are meant to be).
@pootispaghetti Жыл бұрын
hmm interesting, I can totally see that. I was thinking it could be one of the twins, but what Ozen said has me thinking somewhat otherwise. Hopefully we see more soon.

Great video. A lot of excellent insights into the chapter, and many things I did not catch on to. I actually quite enjoy these more rambly-esq videos, and wouldn’t even mind seeing more of them. This was the chapter to finally sell me on Srajo. I didn’t dislike her, but I was initially a bit hesitant since I thought her story might just revolve around mysteries, with her personality just being a hooligan. However, I no longer believe this to be the case. Despite her goofy and seemingly earnest personality, it always feels she’s hiding something and that there is always a hidden meaning behind her actions, such as trying to get Riko to spill the beans on Reg’s capabilities. Her insistence that Riko’s crew stay with them seems to be a particular red flag, especially due the Nanachi and Faputa’s skepticism. She also seems respectful of the act of secret keeping, taking no offense to Riko’s party (or Hello Abyss now, I guess). Of course, that’s not going to stop her from trying to uncover them. Overall a very fitting but still unique characterization for someone known as the Sovereign of Mystery. The parallels between Hail Hex and Hello Abyss are also particularly intriguing. I honestly believe Srajo may end up being the white whistle Riko resonates with the most, and that their inevitable clash is going to deeply affect Riko. With how much focus Riko has been getting, especially regarding her role as a leader, I have a feeling that this is going to be a major developmental arc for her. I believe Srajo’s moral compass is going to be vague at best, but someone Riko will still come to appreciate. And the likely event of her having to kill Srajo, or at least stop her dream by preventing her from further descending into the abyss will likely cause Riko to reconsider some things and change for better or worse. Finally, I want to touch on the “leftovers” Ozen meets with at the end. I believe this is the survivor of the twins seen in the village arc. The lack of limbs is definitely meant to allude to the Juusou twins, and both are familiar with Ozen. My guess is that they were a previous incarnation of the twins born 30 years prior, and that all incarnations of the Sherumi and Menae twins are particularly vulnerable to the Birthday Death disease. Somehow, a process that involves removing the limbs allows one to survive the disease, which is why Srajo’s twins are in the state they are in now. I assume there is even more to this process, since Sherumi and Menae don’t seem to want to remember it. Maybe Ozen herself performed the process on “leftovers,” which is why they hold her in disdain. I have a feeling this process is gonna be revealed to us eventually and will join the ranks of the other horrific scenes MIA is known for. Overall, disregarding some of the unpleasant “stuff” in the first fourth, this was a fantastic chapter. (And apologies for the long comment.)
@pootispaghetti Жыл бұрын
thank you! and no worries, I'm no stranger to long comments lol yeah true, I really like how Tsukushi is handling Srajo, she's very interesting so far, and I love that she's fitting into a bit of an older sister role for Riko, even tho she likely doesn't have the best intentions. mhmm, Riko will definitely be changing a lot. she's already build up some of that "willing to do immoral things for the sake of the journey" attitude in the last arc and that's definitely going to be paying off here. I think Srajo will die, mainly since this chunk of arcs (this and Iruburu) seems to have upped the consequences to pretty much everyone dying and being unable to see through their wishes. Riko will change for the better tho, this will make her even more focused and determined and likely a much more competent leader on the road ahead, although she'll definitely still have that childlike sense of wonder, it's what makes her the lord of children. yeah I can definitely see more horrible stuff being unveiled about the "disarming", and it'd definitely make sense for it to be something that Ozen does herself, both ability and personality wise.
@hunting4r2d2 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, Hail Hex's chances of survival are pretty slim. Also my brain must have short circuited, because Ozen explicitly states to Jiruo that they aren't going to see the twins, but a place affiliated with them. This, combined with Nanachi's comment that the limbless state referenced by the twins seems to be tied to ability of theirs makes me believe the twins cause the accident, and "leftovers" is merely the sole survivor. Perhaps they have some way of directing the curse to people if they think about it. Could be the reason they're called snipers and why Srajo's bring children during her descent. I mean, we got a child with death lasers, and one who rips people apart, so one's with psychic capabilities seems fitting for MIA's cast of murderous children. Anyways, just wanted to add this to clear up any misinformation I may accidentally spread.@@pootispaghetti

loved the video and have subscribed as a made in abyss fan! 🐰 noticed a lot of things I hadn't before. This is to throw in a little fun fact if you didn't know already: I learned from a video of reactions of Japanese readers that "hello abyss," the name of team riko’s can also be read as “halo abyss,” both are pronounced the same ハロー. this gives it a very interesting double meaning! (could it be referencing the pivotal ring?)

This is a little late of comment, but I was watching this back and wanted to throw an idea out there. You say that Mei, in your analysis of the story, would mark the arc of the next white whistle. You also mention that this would be an arc of some kind of chaos, and given this quality, could upend some of the defined story structure. Following this, Haku, in some way, would be the organizing principle of the last white whistle arc. Perhaps such a chaotic quality of Mei, is more in line with, Idk, some Sovereign of Annihilation? And achieving a thing of highest value, coming from a place of chaos, would require some Guidence? Perhaps from a Chosen Sovereign? Dropping the very loose veil, I imagine that fitting the next arcs in what little is left of the known abyss would take a change in structure as well, and I think that Lyza would be a very effective catalyst for shaking up the narrative. This would put Wakuna after her. I have other thoughts on this, but this is already a little long. Lyza is still probably the most likely last white whistle, but I think it is worth considering the reverse, especially while we are down to two.
@pootispaghetti Жыл бұрын
hmmm true, Lyza being the next white whistle would be interesting and would definitely shake things up, although I doubt that it would happen. I have some reasons as to why (mostly based around how Riko connects to each of the whistles) but I can't really get into them here since it relies on a lot of stuff I'll be covering in the Bondrewd video. I definitely see where you're coming from though and I agree it's an interesting possibility!
@michaelcreel6522 Жыл бұрын
@pootispaghetti I suppose I will be eagerly awaiting the video then! I will see you there. There is one last idea I want to get across though. Riko has a conversation with Prushka about the letter, and I think that it is part character development, and part Tsukushi talking through the characters. Prushka: "once you are a white whistle, what do you wanna do?" Riko: "Well I thought I'd become a white whistle because I want to go see my mother, but you know... the one waiting there might not even be my mother, but even though I understand that now, I am still excited, even more excited than before." (Later on) Riko: "That's it! Meeting her won't be the end! In fact, it's just the beginning!" I just get the feeling we need someone after Lyza to get a payoff for something like this.
@pootispaghetti Жыл бұрын
@@michaelcreel6522 If the structure of MiA stays the same, then we might get another arc after Lyza that delves more into Haku as an idea

awesome video appreciated the read along. Im also intrigued as to who that person might be at the end. Maybe they are someone who claims to come from the bottom of the abyss?
@pootispaghetti Жыл бұрын
actually I think I might have an idea, or at least I have a better idea than I did yesterday. I think it's someone who survived the curse of SheruMenae. the twins mentioned that Reg and his friends would "become like them" (lose their limbs) if the twins remembered something, and Hello Abyss was theorizing that it could be some kind of power. I think the twins have some sort of curse isolated around them, and the person at the end was a survivor of it, with SheruMenae and the birthday death disease being different supernatural curse events that are appearing because of the incoming cycle change. That person could be the father of one of the twin? it would explain his hatred of Ozen. He also seems to have the same type of hair as Ozen and Belchero, which could be a variation of the Abyssal Twirls that's caused by that, or something related.
