Ah, nice to know someone else hates dialogue in cast recordings.

I could be wrong about the length now but a long time ago I counted how much of the track had the song and it was 2:58 in a 4 minute track. 1/4 of the track of talking is too long, especially when it's placed in the middle of the track

@@whatok3273 if the talking was at the end, I would be ok with it since I can just skip to the next song, but when it’s in the middle it’s such a guessing game trying to skip to the next song part and not missing anything, like they made the track version specifically for people to listen to it without having to go on KZbin and find it :( anyway you did a great job on this, I’ll be listening to this from now on instead of the track :D

Although I can't choose a favourite, I firmly believe that this is the best song of this musical

By far, one of Joey's best songs, next to "Wagon on Fire".

Thank you for this edit of the song! I love how "you opened the box..." makes Wiggly sound like something straight out of Hellraiser.

Np! It's Uncle Wiley who's singing this song

With this and America is Great Again I think it's safe to say it's not a Hatchetfield musical if there isn't an absolute banger that also mocks a core part of US culture

Thank you so much for this! I prefer the cast recording, mainly because it has that manufactured feeling the stage version isn't doing for me.

Heavy dialogue is the cousin of dance breaks, and both are terrible. Nice to see it cut down cleanly!
@whatok32733 жыл бұрын
Dance breaks are fine because the music still plays in the background, but as long as they aren’t too long
@viperv67683 жыл бұрын
@@whatok3273 I'm personally not a fan of them 90% of the time; the music is not enough for me to enjoy them. Plus, they tend to have those awkward, clearly fake hoots and hollers of the characters having "fun". Or, like you said, they go on far too long. I feel like 30 seconds to a minute is a as long dance breaks or dialogue should be in a soundtrack.

Whatttt, I love both! You can’t be a theatre lover but only love one third of the equation
@viperv67683 жыл бұрын
@@xhappyponyxwasmyoldname1395 oh, I for sure can! Soundtracks have different rules than stage performances. When watching the full show, dance breaks and mid song dialogue doesn't feel off They communicate plot and relationships, and you can see the dances. But with soundtracks, I'm trying to sing along, put these songs on a playlist with other musicals, etc. I cant do that when a third of the song is exposition I can understand after seeing the show once. For me, dialogue and dance on soundtracks is just as bad as music youtubers who spend half of their video rambling, thanking their patreon donators, and doing the annoying "like, subscribe, donate" shpeel. I get why its included, but it makes me want to find a video that is not yours so I can hear the song (the thing I came for) rather than the fluff (youtuber thanks or dialogue exposition). Like I want to support the creators how I can, but editing choices can really detract from the "listen on repeat" experience I so love to do.

Thank you for making this edit, I like listening to this song when writing but yeah, the dialogue does kinda get in the way a bit. So thank you for saving my motivation!

this was playing in the background to stuff so I didn't see the title or message about the cut dialogue but when John showed up I said out loud "thank you to whoever did that" bc I was getting ready to come skip the dialogue lmao so thank you what ok
