Hey Achara, great reaction as usual, but wanted to point out that just because the characters are progressive doesn't mean they're "Western in their thinking" - we shouldn't conflate the two. While there are many conservative/homophobic people in India (the same can be said of the US or the UK), there are also lots of forward-thinking, accepting folks, and that doesn't automatically mean they've somehow been influenced or taught to think that way by the West. As a fun fact, India actually has a huge history of a flourishing LGBTQ community. Homosexuality was only criminalized in the 1800s by the British (aka, "Westeners")

So excited for Neeraj Ghaywan (I'm assuming) doing the Buddhist weddings storyline with Radhika Apte. This is one segment of society that is almost always never shown in mainstream film/TV. Very intrigued to see how they navigate it and that they will do it justice. Means a lot for representation.

she doesn't know that a judgement doesn't change everyone's mindset immediately like a switch😂😂 there are people in this world that are not okay with some people who live differently, who have a different lifestyle, who love differently, who have a very different identity; they don't like people who are different from them. awkwardness can lead to a v i olent behavior as well. when people get very awkward or uncomfortable they attack the people who make them feel awkward. like b u * n ing houses of gay couple in early usa or t r ashing couples in a park in india etc..

​@samalpool8450 because it's psychological. We viewed British rulers as superior. Our grandparents just wanted their kids to be superior in society to make a living and skin color also was included in that. The kids received this from their parents and enforced the same on their kids, which is us, millenials. We have begun coming out of it now but it's slow. Fairness creams were banned only recently but they just changed the marketing and they are still available.

not true bro I never ever cared about skin color, I never got a single thought that this color looks better or was more attracted to a particular skin color. I have found some people not good-looking in a fair skin many times. I have met some gorgeous women with a dusky skin. I am sure there might be many people like me as I am no alien.

Check out made in heaven s2e4 ... Has an Anurag Kashyap cameo :) and is legit based on Salman and Katrina, Isabella Kaif and others 😂 S2e1 was the strongest though tbh.. Vijay Raaz + new additions Mona Singh and Trinetra r the true stars of s2 though. The originals like Sobhita, Jim had very repetitive slow development sadly.

Indians in the comment section got offended when Achars says "the characters are western in their thinking". Indians love blaming Westerners for every wrong in their society but would not even acknowledge that LGBT rights is a western movement which we need to thank them for even discussing about it. How long we are gonna blame Britishers for our homophobia (which btw Britishers have come along way back) and Indians still stuck at "oh, its the Britishers who criminalized". No dude, just accept the fact that Indians are largely homophobic and even 50 years down the line, Indians will hardly learn and when a westerner will talk about India's homophobia, we'll be quick to blame Britishers as if it solves the problem🙄
