My husband has owned his dual seat 1974 Sport since new. We have several motorcycles & the Sport is by far his favourite motorcycle.

Nothing better than a Roundcase. The longer you own one the harder it is to part with it.

It's such a wonderful motorcycle! ... and you are right, one has to own such a beauty of a bike as long as one lives.

I bought a 750S back in 1974 just like this one from a dealer in Perth, can’t remember the name right now. Yes they are a beautiful bike but mine was always hard to start for some reason. Kept it for a couple of years and sold it. I’ve still got the owners manual. I was working at the Windarra nickel mine at the time and those long straight roads up there didn’t really suit it. Mine had the single seat and wasn’t the most comfortable for long trips. I’ve got a Z900RS now.

I bought a new 350 cc non-desmo Mark3 in 1973, and never regretted it. My only concern was that I couldn't afford the 750 cc.

So nice to see a Sport not chopped up and turned into a "green frame". Awesome bike, mine was this model, single Scarab disc though. Bought it second hand for $1400 and got $1800 when I traded it in at Fraser's on a first model Pantah 500SL. Not a day goes I don't kick myself that I don't have that Sport anymore.😊

I had the GT and really loved it . I foolishly sold it to buy the larger 900 Darmah ( seduced by black and gold ) and while it was faster , it was very-different to that nimble 750 . Dave nz

Best looking bike of the era…in my opinion even better looking than the greenframe…just lacking the rear cowling, do you still have it?

Yes I do, I have both. The solo seat is actually a little lower than the dual seat, and adds to feeling of really moulding into the bike rather than sitting on it. The dual seat is nice but a little smaller than the GT dual seat and feels a little cramped for the pillion. I may go back to the solo seat and just use the GT for 2-up :)

@@DM750S Yeah I know the feeling. I have a ‘79SS and also have both seats, but rarely use the pillion seat

@DM750S
@DM750S Жыл бұрын

You are correct. My 1974 750 Sport, sold in America, has polished engine cases. Ian Falloon's book contains details of the small differences between 750 Sports.

It's a little hard on the back in the traffic, but over 100kph, it's perfect cos you're leaning into the wind, which is a must if you want comfort at speed with no fairing

My husband commuted into Sydney CBD from out the back of Liverpool for 10 years. He also used to ride the Sport from Sydney to Adelaide only stopping to refuel. He is in his late 60s & still loves riding the Sport though an hour or two on the bike is his preference now.
