Been watching this series from the very beginning and I feel like the story is taking a way different turn from what it used to be. Now it's more about portal and going from city to the sea. The characters in the story are lacking and it jumps too fast from part to the next. Out of all the Donghua, I'm watching, this one seems to be the one that is hard to follow.

It's a lot slower with the light novel. Basically, its a world that is filled with danger. Portals are just one way to escape dangers. He has to endure MANY dangers with narrow escapes time after time. Mo Juren and recently Xiao Cha. No Donghua can do a light novel justice.
