My son has to fly to Madeira later on thismorning, for a mountain bike comp, and doesn't like flying- [understatement of the year!] - he was watching the aborted landings, and said it is one of the most tricky airports to land on...but I hope the pilots are experienced. The Portugese ones would be, let's hope the British ones are, as well! Madeira looks a beautiful place, and flying is the only way to get to it quickly. ..and let's hope safely, for all passengers and crew :) 8:22.......skilled pilot!!

He is going as much for the ''fun'' as for the competition- I have seen a couple of Facebook posts, and it looks like they are having a great time...[they look a bit muddy!] - has it rained in Madeira in the last few days? I was amazed seeing how beautiful and unspoiled Madeira is - it looks a bit like Bali, the intense green, and the steep terrain, and the blue ocean. :)
