Madeira / entlang der Süd West Küste

Bei strahlend blauem Himmel unternehmen wir heute eine „Autowanderung“ entlang der Süd- und Westküste Richtung Porto Moniz. Erster Stopp ist bei Fajã da Ovelha mit zwei Aussichtspunkten aufs Meer. Anschließend geht es munter kurvig weiter zu Ponta do Pargo. Hier gibt es wieder zwei Aus-sichtspunkte. Einer davon ist der Leuchtturm (Farol), der den westlichsten Punkt Madeiras markiert. Danach windet sich eine noch abenteuerlichere Straße zur am Abhang liegenden Kirche Nossa Senho-ra da Boa Morte. Von dort aus führt ein gepflasterter Weg zu einem Aussichtspunkt ins Nichts aufs Meer. Der nächste hop-on-hop-off-Punkt ist Achadas da Cruz, wo wir auf die Seilbahn runter ans Meer warten. Es passen jeweils 6 Personen in die Kabine. Nach einem langen Signal schweben wir mühelos hinunter. Unten angekommen, lassen wir uns von der Meeresbrandung beeindrucken, wandern ein Stück an der Küste entlang und über Nebenwege an Bauerngärten vorbei zurück zur Talstation der Seilbahn. Brav warten alle Touristen, die wieder nach oben wollen, hintereinander in der Sonne und steigen selbständig - ganz ohne zusätzliches Personal - ein. Das klappt richtig gut. Nach 20 Minuten sind auch wir an der Reihe und lassen uns bequem die 451 Höhenmeter nach oben transportieren. Die Seilbahnfahrten kosten insgesamt 5€ pro Person.

Under a bright blue sky, we are taking a "car tour" along the south and west coast towards Porto Moniz. The first stop is at Fajã da Ovelha with two viewpoints over the sea. Then we continue on a cheerful winding road to Ponta do Pargo. There are two more viewpoints here. One of them is the lighthouse (Farol), which marks the westernmost point of Madeira. After that, an even more adventurous road winds its way to the church of Nossa Senhora da Boa Morte, which is located on the slope. From there, a paved path leads to a viewpoint into the void over the sea. The next hop-on-hop-off point is Achadas da Cruz, where we wait for the cable car down to the sea. Each cabin has space for 6 people. After a long signal, we float down effortlessly. Once we reach the bottom, we are impressed by the sea surf, walk a bit along the coast and on side paths past farm gardens back to the valley station of the cable car. All the tourists who want to go back up wait obediently one after the other in the sun and climb in by themselves - without any additional staff. It works really well. After 20 minutes it's our turn and we are comfortably transported up the 451 meters. The cable car rides cost a total of €5 per person.

Aujourd'hui, nous faisons une « randonnée en voiture » le long de la côte sud et ouest en direction de Porto Moniz sous un ciel bleu clair. Le premier arrêt est à Fajã da Ovelha avec deux points de vue sur la mer. Ensuite, il continue par un itinéraire sinueux jusqu'à Ponta do Pargo. Il y a encore deux points de vue ici. L'un d'eux est le phare (Farol), qui marque le point le plus occidental de Madère. Ensuite, une route encore plus aventureuse serpente jusqu'à l'église de Nossa Senho-ra da Boa Morte, située à flanc de colline. De là, un chemin pavé mène à un point de vue sur le vide de la mer. Le prochain arrêt à arrêts multiples est Achadas da Cruz, où nous attendons le téléphérique jusqu'à la mer. 6 personnes rentrent dans chaque cabine. Après un long signal, nous descendons sans effort. Une fois en bas, nous nous laissons impressionner par les vagues de la mer, marchons le long de la côte et empruntons des sentiers secondaires le long des jardins de ferme jusqu'à la station inférieure du téléphérique. Tous les touristes qui souhaitent remonter attendent docilement les uns derrière les autres au soleil et montent de manière indépendante - sans personnel supplémentaire. Cela fonctionne vraiment bien. Après 20 minutes c'est notre tour et nous sommes confortablement transportés jusqu'aux 451 mètres d'altitude. Les trajets en téléphérique coûtent au total 5 € par personne.
