for every one asking why the instructors were out there or why they were running around. This was most likely a rehearsal. I have done plenty and this is what it looks like.

I have fond memories of 10 years of dance lessons and recitals with my daughter. Guess I was living vicariously through her. I took tap lessons when very young until the teacher quit. Guess only 3 students paying 25 cents a lesson wasn't worth her time. My daughter did get to be extremely good and we even got her private lessons. All our VCR tapes don't do us much good. She stopped dancing at 16. Sure wish I had all that money back. At least I still have the memories.

I must say this is a group of young tappers that are doing a really good job. Considering their age, they did great. Now if only we can teach the stage people to not make such a big deal and from running back and forth. Thr one with thr shorter pants looks mad. Lol Not good when dealing with young children. Now that it's been 10 years, I wonder how many are still doing tap? It's a lost art for adult dancers. I love watching them.
@emilyadams99863 жыл бұрын
I agree. This looks like a five-year-old beginner tap class doing their end-of-year recital (or a dress rehearsal for it). At that age, all of the dancers understand what's happening, they want to be there, and they're able to learn and remember a short, relatively simple, choreographed dance routine without their teacher on stage doing it along with them. So, five seems to be a good age to start extra-curricular activities, like dance. I've seen preschool and toddler classes with dancers crying, running away, throwing tantrums, getting in fights on stage, standing still or playing with their costumes throughout the performance instead of dancing, et cetera. I know the parents who put their kids in those classes (and the studios that offer them) mean well, but at that age, it's too soon for most kids.

It’s pretty normal for kids that age especially when they are on a stage (because it’s not the same as where they are used to practicing)
@annagilleland27542 жыл бұрын
This is also their FIRST year of dance. They are exactly at the level they should be. It's not competitive level dance. It's recreational dance that is probably once a week for 45 minutes to an hour, divided between tap, jazz, AND ballet.

@@InResponseOutreach I’m a dance teacher and they are pretty good. If you want perfect dancers, you have to go to a studio like OCPAA. For five year olds who most likely haven’t been dancing for very long and don’t take more than one or two classes a week, they are doing a rest job. There is only so much you can expect out of children this young. It’s much better if they take classes for fun when they are this young than serious training
