I love these gentleman! Been really enjoying PFT's self-disclosures about being a "late bloomer" in his standup, and it is refreshing to that Mr. Hodgman is similarly self-aware. It's almost ironic that this trait appears so visibly in two men with rather costumed appearances -- although methinks it not a contradiction at all.

Man...this show should have gotten *_WAY_* more attention...genius. And these two have _such_ good chemistry....their styles are so complimentary! Hilarious.

Hodgman and PFT are pretty much my two favorite comedy-type people in the world right now! Seeing them together is fantastic! Or, at least, I assume it will be... I haven't actually watched the video yet... got so excited at the prospect of it, I had to comment immediately.

***** I enjoyed that long ago. :) I'm subscribed to the Dead Authors podcast. It DID, however, momentarily slip my mind that I'd heard them together (if not actually being themselves) on that when I made my comment here initially, though.

I actually found this by looking up both names together because I had just confused them for each other and though “well if they remind me of each other and have similar styles of comedy, I wonder whether I can find any instances of them working together”

I want PFT to have a talk show so bad. I want to see guests actually enjoy being there and him losing it and guffawing into the microphone. I bought Areas of my Expertise without knowing A) who John Hodgman was or B) that it was the second book it the series. I got it for like $3 as Borders was shutting down. I really need to go back and read it again hearing his voice in my head.

I'm almost positive that this show, which is amazing but sadly switched to a comedian who doesn't match it, sorry Russell Peters but PFT matches this so much better, is inspired by Man to Man with Dean Learner, a great show that followed the cancellation of an amazing show Garth Marenghi, starring Richard Ayoade as the titular host. It's intro and ending is quite similar. I wonder if PFT was a fan. Both fantastic men. And John is the most adorable and the best.
@umphreak9999
@umphreak9999 5 жыл бұрын
yeah i didn't make it past the second or so interview with Russell Peters, whichever was the Anthony Jeselnik interview. when Peters admitted to having another comedian basically format his show for him because he didn't know about pacing or how to actually construct a show, i stopped watching. you could see Anthony was kinda shocked , like "why would admit that and/or assume other comedians do that?" lost any respect i may have had for him, plus his whole interview style felt very forced, his questions were very leading and he just doesn't have the same experience that PFT can bring to the table. PFT can relate to virtually every story he's told because he'd been in every aspect of show business for so long, from standup to improv to acting to voiceover/ad work and everything in between, he's either already experienced it, heard about it before or was a participant.
